Got a call from 1102998053466, a woman with an Indian accent claiming she worked for BT. She told me my IP was compromised and asked to connect to my computer via Teamviewer to fix it. When I questioned her for a contact number, she gave me 02081440409 to ring back. Definitely don’t trust this, they’re just trying to get into your PC to nab your private data.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT saying my IP was compromised. It felt off straight away. The woman spoke with an Indian accent, which made me suspicious. I asked for a phone number to ring them back on, and they gave me this one. Then I wondered why a company like BT would use a 0208 number instead of a toll-free or official line. The lady then brought on a “manager” who sounded really sketchy. That’s when I just ended the call.

I got a call from this number too, couldn't make out much at first, told them I was suspicious and said I'd ring back after I confirmed the number was from BT. Checked this site afterwards. Don’t give out any info if you get called by them, you can tell it’s not legit by the background noise from an office or something. Trust me on this one.

I received a call from this number, with someone purporting to be from British Telecom’s fraud prevention team, oddly using a name that sounded very much English. They were probing for my IP address and pressuring me to enhance my computer security. Definitely a scam, so beware!

I got a call from someone called "Stephen" speaking with an Indian accent, claiming to be from BT’s Tech Support. He told me my computer was hacked and said he was calling from Newgate Street, London. When I asked for his contact number, he gave me 02081440409 and even told me to call him back if needed. I waited about 20 minutes before ringing back, but all I got was the phone ringing with no answer.

Got a call from someone claiming to be BT saying my computer was hacked. It sounded a bit dodgy and hard to follow. I phoned BT myself and they confirmed the number was bogus and warned me to ignore the call. Definitely dont share any info with these lot!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT saying my account was compromised and I had to fix the security straight away. I did what they asked and somehow ended up installing TeamViewer on my laptop. They said it was needed for my accounts to ‘sync’ or something. We went through ‘security updates’ on my email and eBay accounts, then suddenly they asked for my bank login info which I refused to give. I jotted down their number and said I’d ring back. Instead, I called BT myself and they confirmed they hadn’t reached out to me. They sounded really believable, so just be careful with calls like this.
