I just don’t get how they manage to get hold of our numbers in the first place.11 yearsBack in December 2015, I got a call from this bloke with an Indian accent called Anthony Wallace, and some woman, also Indian, named Carol White. They claimed I was owed £2500 for mis-sold PPI linked to a bank loan I never took out. They tried to convince me to head to a pay point to buy a £250 voucher. They said Carol White would come round with a cheque for the £2500 - yeah right, like she wasn’t half a world away in some dodgy place. When I said I had the vouchers, they asked me to read out the codes so they could "verify" them and basically steal the money. I told them to come by and collect the vouchers themselves, since Anthony said she was nearby. Carol even tried to fake her location on Google Maps, but I could hear her fiddling with it. After a while, I just told them to stop wasting their time trying to scam decent English folk and had a good laugh at them.
