My phone showed this call as a possible scam right away, so I just let it ring out. Instead of a number, it showed the name Finovace Business Technology. I had to press and hold to see the actual number so I could check online. Turns out, when I searched for the company, the UK government site said it was dissolved back in November 2021. So yeah, no question about it, it’s a scam for sure! I’m going to block them and report it now.

About half an hour back, I got a call from this number with someone speaking with an Asian accent. Just like others have mentioned, they claimed the Ministry of Justice owed me £3000 in back bank fees and asked how I wanted to get it. I played along, telling them I'd wait for another call next week. When they ring again, I’m definitely recording the chat but won’t share any personal info, obviously. Total scam, honestly. Turns out it’s linked to someone called David or Steve - both of which don’t sound familiar to me, and I doubt the MoJ just hands out cash like that. It’s a mess, really. Got a call claiming to be from the MOJ wanting to talk to my husband. When I said no, the lady started swearing at me and then just cut off. These calls are beyond annoying and honestly, they can do some serious harm if they get through to someone who’s vulnerable. Absolutely shocking!

She told me something about the Ministry of Justice giving me £3000. Apparently, a rep would deliver a cheque, but I needed to show ID first. She said the cash was mine, but I'd need to pay a 5% 'tax' fee, which was £150. From the beginning, I knew it was dodgy, but I played along a bit and asked her why the tax was only 5%. She started getting annoyed and said I had to listen, promising to explain everything. Then she just hung up on me.
