Just rang me a minute ago but I didn’t pick up and honestly glad after reading the comments here! I’ve been getting loads of scam calls from the States in the last couple days, all from similar numbers. Looks like it’s the same outfit using a bunch of different lines. I’m getting about four or five calls daily. It’s super frustrating.

Got a call from this number earlier, asking if Mr {My surname} was home. Since my son stays here too, I asked for his first name. The caller, who sounded like he spoke English, denied having that info, which felt a bit dodgy. I told him then he had no right to call, and before I could hang up, he just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS ONE!!!

Got a call about renewing the washing machine insurance and they asked for card details. My mum only shared the first four digits thinking it was harmless, but then they somehow managed to get the rest out of her. Poor thing didn’t realise what was happening 😩

Got a call from a different number about a washing machine warranty, which I've blocked now. They had all my info right, but the machine’s nearly 10 years old and I never got any extra warranty on it. The woman on the line sounded pretty shocked when I kindly told her to check if her company was actually legit and maybe think about finding a different job!

These scammers keep using fake London numbers, like 02081039267, to trick people. They’re proper con artists and I’ve reported them to Action Fraud. If more folks complain, they can track these muppets down, even from abroad. Just google "Action Fraud report phishing" to file a report - you don’t even need to give your own contact info. They have the tech to hide or change numbers, showing a different caller ID from anywhere in the UK, but still, these calls keep buzzing in no matter how many people complain. It’s really frustrating that nothing effective has been done to put an end to these nuisance calls.

Then, when I said I’d call them back and asked for their contact info, they just ended the call. Pretty sure it’s a scam, watch out!

I got a call from a guy with a strong accent who said his name was "Dave" and that he was ringing from Sky. He told me my Sky equipment warranty was nearly up and offered me a deal: pay £189 for a year upfront and get another year free. Sounds good, right? But here's the thing, he asked for me, even though I’m not the account holder. When I told him this, he just ended the call straight away. I’m pretty sure if I’d given him my bank info for the supposed direct debit, I would’ve been scammed out of my money.
