I kept gettin calls from 020 81219670, started around 3pm with some amazing deal. They even emailed me a code for a phone package, sounded pretty good. After hanging up, they still rang me about six more times, which got really annoying.

On Wednesday, December 4th, I saw a missed call from 020 8106 5628 at about 1:18pm, but I didn’t pick up. Earlier that same morning, around 9:46am, I got a text from 07893 947 814 warning me about a suspicious small charge of 51p on my credit card, allegedly to AVETEL. I found a short YouTube clip explaining scams linked to AVATEL credit card frauds. I’m pretty sure these two contacts are connected and both are dodgy. Just thought I’d share. Stay safe, everyone.

Received a call from 02081405697, where the person said they were from BT and Openreach, telling me my internet had an issue. They wanted me to connect to my laptop so they could fix it remotely. I told them my laptop wasn’t working, then they asked if I could use my phone instead. I refused and when they asked if there was another device I could use, I said no again, explaining that I’d contact my provider directly if anything was wrong. After that they just ended the call. Complete scam alert.

TOTALLY A SCAM. The person said they were from 02's Promotions Team, promising a 40% off deal. They wanted to know my bill amount but couldn’t tell me what I actually pay or any other account info. When I asked for a contact number to check, they gave me 0208 144 9319. I decided to ring 02 myself and they told me this was a scam and I should avoid calling that 02801 number.

The number 02081459227 called me yesterday after my laptop suddenly froze and showed a message threatening my data would be at risk if I didn’t ring them. I panicked and called, even though I’m 70 years old. They kept me on the phone for about 2 hours, telling me to enter various commands to fix my laptop. Near the end, they asked if I used online banking, and when I said no, they just hung up. That’s when I realised it was a scam. Luckily, I never gave them any bank info.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Sky’s maintenance crew saying my contract is up for renewal. Feels like a scam to me.

02081-238616 Fri 28 May 21 @1218hrs. Got a call from a woman named Eva, she was talking about Sky TV cover. Since I don’t have Sky, I told her she’d probably got the wrong number. She was quite polite and apologised, didn’t push or hassle me like most sales or scam calls do, so not sure if it was legit or not. If I had to say, I reckon they were just trying to bag a sale, but it could easily be a trick as well.

Got a call from this number 02081 730231 with a recorded voice saying we had to pay up or they’d cut off our electric and wifi today. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.

I'll try to find out the rest of the number soon, they claim to be a Heightsafe firm but they actually do plumbing work on the lower floors.

Yet another irksome scam call has landed in my lap. I reckon a fitting punishment would be to confine these chaps in a room with a deafening ringtone blasting for hours on end. That might just help them understand the pain they put people through!

The line was really poor and I think it was an Indian bloke who tried to say his name and company but I couldn’t catch either of them, then the call just cut out.

02081 766669 popped up as an International call so I figured it was dodgy. I answered but stayed quiet, then I heard someone speaking French asking ‘parlez vous francais’. I hung up straight away!

Every time I pick up, there's nothing but dead air-it's utterly infuriating! There’s got to be a way to put an end to this nonsense; receiving four calls a day is simply preposterous and rather unsettling! 🛑

I've been bombarded with calls from this number all week long. I've ended up blocking it, but they still managed to leave a voicemail. I've yet to listen to it, as I'm worried it might incur extra charges!

Last time this number rang me, I swiftly blocked it. The caller was making threats about potential arrest for tax evasion! Today, I received another call from the same number, but thankfully my phone did the sensible thing and blocked it right away.

02081 729467 A lady who said her name was Charlotte rang me asking about a warranty for a washing machine. When I asked which washing machine she meant, she just cut the call.

There’s this sneaky scam going on where the beginning of the number is always 02081 but they switch up the last digits so if you look it up, it doesn’t come up as a spam or harmful number. For example, 02081 816293 is one of them.

Today, I've received a total of eight missed calls from this particular number. Quite bewildering, to say the least!

Just got a call claiming my washing machine warranty was about to expire. Bit daft really, as my current washer is just 4 months old, the last one lasted 8 months, and the one before that went 9 years. Watch out though - they knew my name, and I’m not on the electoral register. When I said they must be scamming or had the wrong number, they said "Scam? No, never do that." Sounded posh, clear male voice, not the usual dodgy type.

02081 ### is a rather bothersome number! I advise you not to answer if they call. I have a strong suspicion it’s a scam, so best to block them completely!

Received a call claiming that my washing machine insurance was about to run out. I asked them to clarify who they were representing, as I was well aware of my policy provider. Instead of answering, they simply cut off the call. It’s concerning that they had access to my complete address and postcode. If someone less vigilant had picked up, they could have easily been taken in by this scam-resulting in a significant loss, perhaps.

02081619700 A guy called and greeted me by my first name. He said, "Hi, I'm Alex, an energy consultant working locally in your area. Erm, I just want to check if you own the house at this address?" The funny thing is, he left this message on my voicemail, so I couldn’t respond! Then about five minutes later, I got a call from 02081 674689, but when my voicemail picked up, they just hung up. Pretty sure it was Alex again, ringing from another number!

I’ve had calls from them about 12 times this month. Even though I’m on the TPS, they just don’t seem to care. Every time I pick up, there’s no one there.
