I got a call on my mobile from 02080560896 but I didn't pick up since I didn't recognise the number. I’ve decided to block it because I also got a call from 02080560895 before, which I checked out on here and ended up blocking that one too.

Got a robotic call from a lady sharing some kind of verification code, like those used for bank or credit card stuff. The number showing up was 02080925835. Weird thing is, I wasn’t even doing any banking or purchases that needed a code then.

If you're looking out for yourself, I'd say this caller is definitely someone to watch out for. The big question is, who’s actually responsible for all these scam calls flooding in? It’s pretty clear really - it's the government itself, since they seem to just accept fraud as part of how the economy ticks along. Fraud keeps things moving, and boosts tax income too, because scammers usually blow their cash fast on flashy stuff, which supposedly helps growth. If those at the top weren't turning a blind eye to these cons, this sort of thing would be cracked down on hard and fast.

This number rang my fax machine earlier at about 1:10 pm today and I didn't pick up. When I looked the number up, it seemed a bit dodgy and turns out it’s called before too. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be an energy advisor. She asked if I owned the property and what kind of house it was. I told her that if she’s really an advisor for this region, she ought to already have that info from the records. Then she mentioned they suggest companies to come do work. I told her I’d rather find my own tradespeople based on local recommendations, not some random strangers. Hung up on the scammers.

Got a call from someone claiming it was about loft insulation that’s apparently causing breathing problems. They said they’d send a surveyor to check it over for free. Got a call from 020 8044 5991 today, the person said they were from 02 and was talking about sending me a new SIM. They already seemed to know a bit about me, which was a bit worrying. The call centre had an Asian accent and sounded pretty legit, but then they started asking loads of personal stuff like old passwords and my mum's maiden name. They were clearly trying to get into my Google, 02, and Virgin Media accounts. Seriously dodgy, watch out for these lot!

Received a call from 02080 581643, some Asian scammers pretending to be from Sky* TV breakdown cover. They tried to get my bank card info by offering a ‘special discount’ on renewal for being a loyal customer. I told them I never even signed up for that cover, and when I questioned them, they just hung up on me! I had a call from someone who tried to trick an older lady by saying she should ‘recall what happened yesterday’, but there was nothing at all that occurred the day before, which left her puzzled. The lady spoke so softly that my Mum couldn’t catch what she was saying and ended up hanging up. The number that showed up on the phone was 02080 561258. Received a call from 02080 595418 a few days ago, the person said they were calling from the Legal Assist claims team about an accident I supposedly had. They wanted me to verify my personal info but I didn’t give anything away. I asked them to say who they thought I was, but they just kept quiet and told me I had to confirm for security reasons. Absolutely a scam without a doubt. Got a dodgy call claiming to be "E-on" from THIS number on 29/3/24. The very next day, a bloke in a scruffy hi-vis jacket turned up at my shop - the jacket had a "Morrisons supermarket" logo on it, not anything like E-on or E-en energy as claimed. He said he needed to check my meter. Honestly, it's all a bit pointless now since I don’t have any meters left, had them all taken out over 5 years ago! Caught plenty of these tricks before, so not falling for it again.

Someone called asking for me by name about some Emergency Medical Alert thing. I told them they’d got the wrong number. Tried to call back a couple of times but it just kept being busy.

02080704205 gave me a ring claiming to be from Microsoft. I told them to take our number off their list and stop bothering us with pointless calls, then just ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from 'Microsoft' asking if I was using my computer. I told her I wasn’t convinced she was genuine, then she just hung up. The number was almost identical to others I’ve seen used for scams. Blocked it straight away.

This caller claimed to be from an energy company and said they could reduce my bills by 20% just by sharing personal info and bank/card details. It was their second call, coming from a number starting with 02080. Hung up straight away! Definitely blocking and reporting this as a scam!

They rang about some offer on an iPhone and contract, proper pushy... I asked how they got my number and then they just went silent... So I ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

The best thing to do is pick up, hang up straight away and then block the number. If you just let the call ring out or end it yourself before answering, you won’t be able to block the caller. I’m not a fan of picking up weird calls but blocking them is the only way to stop the hassle.

Got a call from a woman with an American accent asking for my mum by her last name. I told her I was her daughter since I use my phone for her sometimes, as she’s 91 and doesn’t have a mobile. When I asked who was calling, she just cut the call. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number today but didn’t pick up once I saw the caller ID looked dodgy. Definitely a scam call, stay well clear of this and other 02800 numbers. (02080624129) These scammers get hold of these numbers and can ring from anywhere really. The government really ought to put a stop to selling these kinds of numbers.

02080560440, I bought something from Eckmann before, but this caller claimed I’d signed up for cash vouchers - which I never did. There’s no such thing as free cash, total scam. I try to block all numbers beginning with 020 but they just keep ringing from different ones. So annoying!
