02080891901 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02080891901 👆 is reported as a persistent and alarming scam targeting individuals with threatening automated calls claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). Callers use an American-accented robotic voice, often citing urgent legal action, tax fraud, or court summons without personalised details. Posing as officers such as “Steven White” or “Lisa Williams,” they pressure recipients to call back immediately, issuing dire consequences including arrest or financial penalties. The scam notably preys on elderly and vulnerable people, causing distress and confusion. HMRC never initiates contact by phone nor requests payment this way; official correspondence is always by letter or secure email. Victims are strongly advised not to respond or share information and to report such numbers to HMRC and local authorities without delay.

That number’s definitely an HMRC con, I usually call them back and mess about a bit. I say I just need to check their address because I’m about to report them to the coppers. The last bloke I spoke to sounded proper scared and was begging me not to do it! Then, of course, they go and block your number. :)

Steven White from HMRC has called me three times now, each time with an American-sounding robotic voice. I tried ringing back once, but as soon as I mentioned I wasn’t comfortable sharing my info because it felt like a scam, they just cut me off. For some reason, these calls usually start coming through for me after midday GMT.

Got a call from what looked like HMRC - actually had two different numbers try the same trick on me. Both times they left a voicemail but I dont pick up unknown numbers. Blocked them straight away. Pretty clear its a scam, but it really annoys me how they’re scaring the older folks who might actually fall for this. The first call was a robot guy, and he ended with “Bless you!” - what a cheeky scammer! Total mugging off.

Just like others have said, they never gave a name and told me to ring back. The caller claimed to be Officer Steven White from HMRC, but didn't say which section. It’s clearly a scam. This kind of thing is really scary, especially for folks who might be more trusting or vulnerable.

I just got a call on my mobile from some random number - honestly, these scammers can be from literally anywhere because it’s so cheap to get foreign numbers now (I pay just £3 a month for a US number to keep in touch with family!). There’s no way HMRC would ring you like that, it’s totally against data protection rules and they never tell you who they actually are on the phone. I feel sorry for all the poor folks who’ve been tricked into handing over money just out of fear. They really are the worst kind of people!

On 14 March 2018, around 2:30pm, I got a call but let it ring to voicemail. The message was from a man calling himself "Steven White" claiming to be from "Etchin" Revenue and Customs. He said something about a lawsuit having been filed against me, repeating his number two times. Oddly, he didn't address me by my name but spoke to someone else - although I couldn't catch the name. Got a call from someone claiming to be "Lisa" at HM Revenue & Customs. It was a recorded message telling me to ring a number or else I'd face court action. The weird thing is, she didn’t include the initial "0" in the phone number, and at the end, she said "Have a blest day", which sounds nothing like something HMRC would say. Definitely seems fishy. Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, someone named Lisa Williams. Sounded really dodgy and a bit scary with how threatening they were. Must be a scam for sure.
