Someone rang saying they were from O2 and told me my SIM was going to be swapped out. I asked if they’d emailed me about it, and she said yes. But when I asked her to repeat the email address to confirm, she just hung up on me. Be careful out there, folks!

I was totally taken aback by this - they said they were from O2 and said I had to get a new SIM because of a merger between O2 and Virgin. The woman had all my info - name, address, bank details, birthday - like she knew everything. I never gave her any of that info though. When I rang O2 myself, turns out it wasn't them at all.

Got a call from someone saying they were O2, but as soon as I told them I don’t use O2 anymore, they just ended the call.

Somebody rang me saying they was from o2 and wanted to send over a new SIM card. When I asked for proof via email, they said they’d already sent some but I hadn’t replied. Then they asked me to confirm my email address. I told them to read out the email they supposedly had on file, and then they just dropped the call. Suspicious if you ask me.

They said they would send me a new SIM but then wanted my email. I told them they must already have it, so I wasn’t giving it. Then she just ended the call. Felt pretty fishy to me.

Someone rang saying they were from O2/Tesco and that they were about to send me a new sim. I had a feeling it was dodgy because when I asked questions, they kept dodging the answers. Plus, I use an eSim, not a real sim card, so there’s no way I’d need a new one. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.
