Some bloke called saying he was from my mobile provider. After a bit of back and forth, he admitted it was EE. I just ended the call and let him ramble on about some 40% discount on my bill, but since I’m not with EE, it was obvious it was a con. He soon realised I wasn’t paying attention and hung up. Since then, I’ve had four different numbers starting with 020 8079 ring me, and no matter how many I block, they keep changing the number. Proper annoying.

I just switched to O2 and this has me a bit concerned. I got a message from O2 saying I’d asked for a one-time access code, which I definitely didn’t. Right after, this number gave me a ring. I didn’t pick up, but I’m guessing they wanted the code to get into my account. Don’t share your code with anyone, seriously! I’ve reported it to O2, but not sure if they’ll be able to sort it out.

Scam alert! If you receive a call from an Indian call centre pretending to be O2, do not engage and hang up immediately. They requested my one-time password, which raised a red flag. Coincidentally, I received a message from O2 warning me about a suspicious one-time code request (which I hadn’t made). It also advised not to share any information and to terminate the call. Stay vigilant!

They’re after your mobile network details so they can hijack your number and grab your bank codes and stuff. Complete con! The bloke claimed to be from “your mobile network”, so I asked which one and he guessed O2 right. He then said O2 was offering 40% off bills since some folks had poor service recently. At that point, it was pretty clear it was too good to be true. Then he asked if I’d hold and be passed to his manager to sort the discount, which would have meant handing over a security code they asked for while I was still on the phone. I just hung up. They rang back 3 times in a row after that, so I blocked the number.
