Got a call from someone speaking with a strong accent, sounded like they were outside or somewhere noisy. They were pushing some sort of O2 SIM deal. Heads up, this number is a total scam. If you get an O2 text with a one-time password, don’t share it with anyone, no matter what. I got a random OTP from O2 that I never asked for, and right after, this number rang me up saying there was suspicious activity on my O2 account and they needed the code. Let me be clear, these people aren’t from O2 at all. They want your code so they can get into your account. Once they’re in, they buy gift cards via text and rack up crazy charges on your bill. On top of that, they can do a sim swap, which means they transfer your number onto their sim card, giving them control over all your accounts linked to that number. Seriously, don’t hand over any codes. O2 employees will never ask for your one-time password, ever.
