Someone pretending to be O2 called me, asking for the code they supposedly sent to my phone. It's a total scam to get into your O2 account. Don't share the code with them! I sent the word CALL to 7726 and then typed in my number like it said.

Its a scam! If you get dodgy phone calls, text the number and info to 7726. This will help your phone provider know its a scam if loads of people report it. But only report numbers if you’re sure its a scam, dont waste time reporting legit numbers. You can also send any scam texts to 7726 and email a screenshot to the police at '[email protected]' so they can look into it.

Sounds like whoever called has no clue that cold calling is banned unless they got a properly authorised list where you've consented to share your info. In the midst of a cacophony of male chatter, I distinctly heard a woman's voice proclaiming 'è finita'-which translates to 'it's finished' in Italian. Unfortunately, the rest of the conversation was lost in the din, though I did notice the other voices had an Indian lilt to them.
