Got a dodgy call from someone pretending to be O2 - nearly got caught out by them. They were ringing from a couple of numbers, 02036507986 and 02078464254, which apparently belong to Colt Technology Services. All these calls trace back to the same building near Covent Garden, London. Really hope the authorities sort this mess soon!

Someone rang claiming to be from EE. When I said no thanks, he insisted on getting my bank details to "refund" me. I told him to jog on. Then he threatened that I shouldn’t report them as they supposedly had all my info already. I told him to shove off and went even further with the insults. He promptly ended the call. 02080791418 just gave me a ring on my phone and I’m convinced it’s a scam. It’s pretty odd how they managed to get my mobile number in the first place! They’ve called me before from a different number which I blocked and marked as spam. The guy on the line sounded like he was from overseas and didn’t properly introduce himself or explain what the call was about. I told him not to bother calling again and that I wasn’t interested. If anyone else gets a call from this number, I’d recommend doing the same.

Honestly, it can be quite a chore trying to put Names to every single Number you get - some of you must have loads stored on your mobiles! But trust me, taking a moment to do it really pays off. About this particular number, 02080791418, it just showed up as a Number with no name attached. I hung around but no voicemail was given. It’s also a good idea to contact your local MP and ask why we’re flooded with these calls. Why can’t we use the police’s 'action fraud' platform anymore to report these scams? Plus, why hasn’t the phone industry rolled out Caller ID Authentication yet to help cut down on these annoying calls? If you get scam texts, forward them to 7726. And for scam emails or screenshots of dodgy texts, email the police at '[email protected]' so they can look into it.
