What a ridiculous situation! This woman started prattling on, claiming to be from Canary Wharf. I couldn't help myself-I just responded with a cheeky, "Oh dear, that's unfortunate for you, love," before I cut the call short.

I could've sworn she mentioned that she was from BT, but then she started prattling on about sending me something and wanted to verify my postcode - which I flatly refused to give her. When I pressed her again about who she actually worked for, she launched into a pitch about investments. I made it clear that I wasn’t keen at all. Suddenly, her tone shifted quite dramatically; she asked me again if I was absolutely certain I didn’t want to hear about investments. I responded in my firmest ex-teacher voice, “No,” and abruptly ended the call.
