Someone saying he was from the Insulation Advisory Service called me from 01202137091 and assumed I’d already joined their loft insulation grant, which I never signed up for. He said he was based in Reading and tried to worry me by saying there could be damp problems in my loft.

Got a call from someone saying they were from an "Insulation Advisory Line" asking about who owns my house and wanted me to check my loft insulation - seemed pretty dodgy to me. The guy called himself Chris and was pushing some other company to come and inspect the roof insulation. He kept mentioning some vague "government" link which sounded really suspicious. Some bloke named Chris rang from the "Insulation Advice Service" saying they were offering a free loft check. He insisted he was calling on behalf of a Government body and gave me some scary talk about risks to health and the house if the loft wasn’t looked at. I stayed polite, told him I’m quite satisfied with my loft insulation, and politely ended the call. This isn’t the first time those calls have come through. Makes me think the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t really do much to stop these.

Got a call earlier from some bloke called Patrick claiming he’s with Insulation Advice Group in London. He started on about my loft insulation being outdated or some nonsense like that. Total rubbish. After I told him off, he just hung up. I used 1471 to check the number and it showed UK 01200 392300 but when I tried calling back, no answer. Really think BT ought to track these scammers down and shut them out. Police should really get involved and hit ‘em with fraud charges.

23/11/2020: Got a call from someone claiming to be from an ‘Installation Advisory Group’. They started asking loads of personal stuff, like my age and if I’m able to decide things about my loft insulation by myself. I told them I’d look into their firm properly before giving any info. After that, the person on the phone seemed a bit unsure and avoided answering clearly. Feels like a scam to me, and I wouldn’t trust it at all.

On 23rd November at about 10.55, I got a call from someone named Patrick who said he was with the Insulation Advisory Group, said it was a government body or something. He asked lots about the insulation in my loft, said it might be causing condensation, and if there was a standard hatch for access, also asked if we used gas central heating. Then suddenly the call sounded sketchy, like the line cut out and went dead. The number was 01200392300 - definitely felt like a dodgy call to me.

Got a call from someone called Chris at Insulation Advisory Group. The chat was very much like what others have shared here. Talk about condensation, a free survey offer, and them saying the manager will ring you back. They even asked if my family handles decisions for me. When I asked if they were linked to the government, he said yes. I told him a few times that his questions were making me uneasy and that I’d check out the company myself, then I ended the call. From what I’ve seen around, it’s probably best to avoid dealing with them.

Some bloke called Tom pretending to be from UK advisory innovations group, ringing me from a Cardiff line 01239 736300. He was asking about loft insulation, saying there’s been some issues with condensation from certain installs and offered a free check. This was even during the lockdown. I played along and after I mentioned my age, he said someone would ring me back to book an appointment. That call never came. Makes you wonder what they’re really after, doesn’t it?

Got a call just now from 01453 886402, some bloke said he was from "UK Advisory Eco Group" and told me there was a problem with my loft insulation. He asked if I could make my own decisions, then kept talking over me whenever I asked about his company. He also wanted to know my age. When I pressed for answers, he dodged my questions and said his manager would ring back within 15 minutes to sort things out and fix an appointment. He was really pushy the whole time. My number’s ex-directory and got hacked before while with TalkTalk, so no surprises I haven't had a call back.

I got a call from someone called Tom about loft insulation, asking if I’d had it looked at lately. I told him I’d had free wall insulation from the government a while back and the loft was checked then, and apparently, the insulation was fine. Tom didn’t really seem to care. I felt a bit suspicious so I called 1471 to check the number, it came up as 01249 7983. After I looked them up, I found out it’s a scam. The number wasn’t even real.

I got a call from someone named 'Tom' much like the one described, and I reckon he might actually have been genuine. Shortly after, 'Dominic', who said he was Tom's manager, rang me back to arrange a survey appointment. They appear to be pushing spray foam insulation, which from what I've heard, is often used where it shouldn't be and might lead to having to redo your whole roof. To me, this feels like a deceptive call - pretending to be assisting with an issue but it’s really just a sales pitch.

Got a call from someone called 'Tom' from a place named 'UK Advisory Eco Innovations Group'. They said my number was on a list of people who'd had insulation fitted before and that it might be causing damage now. Total nonsense. 'Tom' kept throwing strange questions at me and then I worked out it was actually a pretty smart automated voice. The scary bit was when it asked, "Do you get advice from friends or family for property decisions?" Seems like a scam targeting those who might be easily fooled.

Got a call from some guy named Tom on 01255695300. It took me a bit to realise it was just a robot voice, which should have been obvious when "he" didn’t even react when my 10 year old daughter passed me the phone. Then he claimed a survey had already been done - which definitely wasn’t the case. I only kept listening because I was waiting for a callback from another firm.

When I asked for more details, the call suddenly cut off. It all seemed believable but the pauses in his replies felt strange. He was trying to set up a survey. The guy said his name was "Sam" and wouldn’t listen when I told him cold calling someone on the Telephone Preference Service is illegal. I looked up Eco Advisory Line after getting a call from someone called ‘Sam’ claiming to be from there - took him ages to actually say the company name. This site popped up, so it’s pretty clear it’s a scam, especially since his number is 0118 3246961. Like others have said, it was all about spray foam insulation. The convo had weird pauses, made me think it was a robot, but when I asked if it was automated, he just laughed and said ‘no’. Really frustrating being disturbed while trying to focus on work.

Claimed to be from some Eco Advisory Line and said they were reaching out to folks with Rockwool insulation in their loft. Got a call from Eco Advisory Line on 02081610220, with a bloke called Matthew saying my loft insulation hadn’t been checked and might cause mould. Told him the loft was inspected when we bought the house, then he asked if I’d chat with my family about the work. I said yes, since they live close, and asked for info about his company. He said EAL, but then the call just cut off. I’m in Corsham, Wiltshire, and I reckon it was a scam. Probably harmless to me, but could trick someone who’s more alone or without good support.

I just got a call from someone claiming to be from UK Advisory Eco Innovations about loft insulation they said was done last year (which wasn’t). They said there might be some condensation issues but there's nothing serious. They said they can arrange a check for me. When I asked where their office was located, they refused to say and then suddenly ended the call. Their number showed as 0441202925463.

Got a call from a number with my local area code. Like others mentioned, it was about some 'dangerous' insulation stuff. I told them no one was visiting right now, especially with the pandemic, then I just ended the call.

01425 270100 It’s a local number around here so looks like they’re pretending to be local to trick people. Got a call from someone saying they’re TOM from Advisory Eco Innovations Group, same kind of spiel as others mentioned. When I asked for a call back number to verify, they just hung up. Pretty clear scam to me. You don’t really know what they want in the end, could be risky and maybe even letting strangers in your house, so I’d say this number is dodgy and unsafe.

Just got a call from Tom at UK advisory eco innovations, sounded exactly like what others have mentioned. The number was 01252 561209. I reckon he might’ve also used 01252 561155 a few days ago.

Just like loads of others have said, it was Tom from the UK Advisory Eco group ringing about insulation. When I asked for more info, he said he’d only just started and that the manager would get in touch. The number was blocked but it’s obvious these scammers are still out there so watch out!

Got a call from 02080402541 today, a bloke named Tom saying my loft insulation is dangerous. His spiel was really slick, trying to trick you into letting him in. I almost got caught out. BE CAREFUL, don’t get drawn in - just end the call straight away.

Some bloke calling himself 'Tom' from UK Advisory Eco Innovations Group rang me up, saying I'd had dodgy loft insulation put in lately (which I definitely haven’t in the last 25 years). The number looked like it was local but it didn’t check out. Felt like a scam, but it wasn't as blatant as the other ones I've had before.

Got a call from 01252 561207 claiming to be from UK advisory eco innovations group. When I asked who they actually were they just ended the call straight away. They were offering a free loft and condensation survey. Seems like the same kind of thing as other calls but from a different 01252 number.

01903 680995. Got a call from 'Tom' claiming to be from UK Advisory Eco Innovations Group. Sounded like the other calls mentioned here. The guy had a quite convincing tone but some odd long pauses before he replied. The number shares the same code as mine, as I'm also from Worthing.

Had a call from someone claiming to be Tom at UK advisory eco innovations group - seemed like a typical scam straight away. Strangely, I nearly got tricked by the robotic, computer-like voice. When I told him to wait while I looked him up on Google, he ended the call sharpish. The number showed as a local one 0151-946-0073, but it turned out to be fake. Stay careful everyone - don’t fall for these dodgy scams!

Tom called from a Weston-super-Mare number 01934 440230. This is the third time this week from numbers 01934 440278 & 440255. Feels like these calls are coming from somewhere else because when I try ringing those local numbers, they’re dead. He said he was doing a loft survey today, saying insulation leads to condensation and mould. I asked how he knew I had loft insulation and where he was getting his info from. Then he just hung up.

Just like others, I've had two calls from someone named "Tom" claiming to be from UK Advisory Eco Innovations Group, ringing from a local number and trying to sell loft insulation checks. I’m 76 and look after my 90 year old husband, so I really don't want any strangers turning up at our home. It feels like a scam, although they sound quite believable.

Just had another call from Tom, this time saying he was with Eco Innovations Group. The caller ID was 14171 claiming the number 01608 610178. The bloke sounded quite legit but his replies were a bit off when I answered some questions. Bit sus if you ask me!

Then he started talking about some ‘supervisor’ and a supposed windfall, probably because I said it sounded fishy. It all seemed a bit dodgy, so I decided to check the number. 01452 260823

I kept getting calls from someone called 'Tom' about my loft insulation supposedly causing damp due to condensation in some homes. Got a call from someone named Tom who said our type of loft conversion was causing moisture problems and offered a free inspection. I asked him the company's full name - UK Advisory Innovations Eco Group - and told him I wouldn’t let anyone into my home without a letter first. Honestly, I’m not going to entertain it at all. He sounded quite convincing and polite, which worries me because some people might fall for it. Looks like plenty of others have had this exact call too. The number was 01793 250958.

Got a call from what sounded like a voice controlled computer, but it felt a bit off. If you don’t answer smoothly or take a moment, it catches onto the pauses and then begins asking stuff like how old you are and whether someone helps you with your choices. Seems pretty dodgy and like it’s set up to exploit older or more vulnerable folk. They usually use phone numbers that look local too. Definitely a scam to watch out for.

Got a call from a bloke claiming to be with UK Advisery EKO Preservation Group earlier today. He started asking about the insulation in our loft and suggested it might be causing issues. Seemed a bit dodgy though, asking loads of questions that didn’t really add up. I told him I wasn’t interested in answering more and hung up. I checked the number by dialling 1471 and it showed up as our local area code 01843 482205. Just posting here to see if anyone else thinks this might be a scam or legit.

Got a call from 01708 300356, some scam obviously. The bloke said he was Tom from UK Advisory Eco Group. He tried to convince me that loft insulation put in by the government was causing mould, and wanted to book an appointment to check it out. When I asked the guy’s name, he replied Sam, but the voice sounded really robotic. I kept asking questions, but after a while the call just dropped. The biggest giveaway was the awkward pauses between my questions and their answers - felt like some dodgy AI or automated system rather than a real person. Proper fishy!

I got a call from someone named Tom as well. He claimed he was new and couldn’t really answer what I asked. The number looked local at first but checking with 1471 revealed it was actually 01445 295091, which is known to be a scam. Just like others said, it was all about loft insulation and condensation problems. Plus, I couldn’t find any real website connected to them. Such a nasty scam targeting people who might not be that sharp with these calls.

Got a call that sounded totally rehearsed, like from a robot. Wouldn't say if it was a Government department or just a business. Then, he claimed he was new and said a manager would answer all my questions only after I agreed and set up a survey! So, I just ended the call there. I'm based in Cheltenham, with the 01242 area code.

Loads of calls keep coming through from people named Sam and Tom. I just block each number that rings but they always seem to change their phone numbers. The worst part is they keep phoning my poorly mother in law, who’s quite old and not well. It really upsets her and she gets so frustrated she just ignores the phone when we try to call her back, which makes us worry loads. Honestly, someone really should look into whoever’s behind this - I reckon there’s enough proof on this site to kick off an investigation.

Like others have said, I got a call from the UK Advisory Eco Innovations Group too. The number was 01499 377063. They mentioned some insulation issues that supposedly made headlines on the BBC and the Daily Telegraph. It felt fishy, like they were trying to sell some overpriced spray insulation or maybe even checking out the place for something dodgy - could be a bit of both, to be honest.

Not once did he provide a company address when I tried to complain about the nuisance call - I reckon he wasn’t programmed for that at all.

Got a call from 01300452072, a UK landline, supposedly from UK Advisory Insulation Group - some bloke called Tom. Same as others have said here. The moment I answered, he launched into his spiel, almost robotic and speaking quite quickly, a bit pushy too. He was trying to book a loft insulation survey and kept going on about mould in old insulation. I threw some questions back at him, but then he just suddenly ended the call with a click. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.
