Got a call bright and early at half past eight today, some recorded voice saying I had a court case with HMRC hanging over me and threatening arrest if I didn’t ring back straight away. Lucky my elderly mum, she’s 92, wasn’t the one to pick up the phone.

2080028767 This call was pretty dodgy, really tried to scare me. It's the kind of scam that might freak some folks out. Luckily, those behind it won't get away with it - the ELWIMP (English League of White Influence Magic Practitioners) has put an official curse on them now!

Just like others have said, I got this robotic voice saying it was HMRC and threatening a warrant for my arrest if I didn’t ring back. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it.

I got a call where they said I’d get an arrest warrant if I didn’t ring them back, but they never said who they were or why they were calling. Pretty sketchy if you ask me.

Got back and found a really nasty message on my answer machine. Took me a second to figure out it was a total scam. Makes me worry though, what if an older person answered? These lot are right scumbags.

Somebody rang saying they were from HMRC and warned me I'd be arrested if I didn't call back. The weird thing was, the number they wanted me to ring was not the same as the one that appeared on my caller ID. Luckily, I didn’t manage to jot the number down, so I couldn’t return the call even if I’d wanted to. Really unpleasant experience!

This call sounded exactly like all the others i've gotten. They were really aggressive, threatening arrest for anyone unaware that HMRC never handles investigations like this. Quite intimidating if you don't know better.

I received a rather alarming message from an automated voice, claiming that there was an issue with my tax submissions, and that a warrant had allegedly been issued for my arrest. They insisted I ring the provided number without delay. I chose to terminate the call instead.

ring up me mam who’s 87 at like 8 am on her landline, then gone off and left a message - proper scared her half to death.

Got a call from this number around 8:30 in the morning. It was one of those recorded British voices telling us to call back straight away about my wife's tax stuff. They said if we didn't ring them back right away, there’d be an "arrest warrant" against us. They said they were from HMRC, but it was clearly a scam trying to scare us. I reckon this could easily panic older folks. Planning to let the Police know about it.

Got a call from some bloke claiming I had a warrant for my arrest, sounded really pushy. When I said I'd check with my partner, he just ended the call. Rang up HMRC myself and turns out it's totally a scam.

Just got a call like that today, some robotic voice saying I need to contact HMRC and that my lawyer has to reach out or I’ll be in trouble with the law. I ended up chatting with HMRC’s online live support, and they told me it’s definitely a scam. They also recommended I report it to the cops because these scammers are playing some serious games and really need to be stopped.

Got a call from a robotic woman’s voice warning me that if I or my lawyer didn’t ring back straight away, there’d be consequences. Totally obvious scam to me, but sadly I can see how older folks or those less careful might get tricked. Blocked as soon as I heard it!
