Some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft tech support rang me up sayin my computer was hacked or something and I had to turn on my PC and follow what he said! I refused - told him I wasn’t interested, but he wasn’t taking no for an answer. Then he goes all creepy saying "he loved me" or whatever. Proper scam, total bang out of order! It really winds me up.

It seems that the newest ploy involves displaying a dialling code that makes it look as though the call is originating from your neck of the woods, or perhaps from somewhere your friends or family are based. If you happen to pick up such a call, don’t hesitate to grill them about their actual location! I received a call supposedly from Hull, yet the area code suggested Swansea-outrageous! I let them have it-how dare they mislead me! I informed them that this was an unlawful call and ordered them to cease contacting me immediately. I even threatened to report their antics, which seemed to do the trick and they quickly hung up.

Got a call earlier saying they're from the Windows tech support and gave me the number 01183283139. They said there was an issue with my computer and told me to stay by it and follow their steps. When I asked how they got my number, they suddenly got rude and passed me to a “senior technician” who kept giving me the same instructions. When I said I don’t even own a computer, they called me a liar multiple times. Told them I was reporting them and their company, which just made them more aggressive. Best just to hang up or ignore this number.
