I received a dodgy call from this number. They ring for a split second before hanging up. When you do answer, it’s as if you’re greeted by silence, which is their tactic to lure you into calling back, probably hoping for a clearer connection. I suspect they’ve snagged my number from an advert I posted online to offload some items. They try to give the impression of being a potential buyer, enticing you to reach out to them. However, if you take the bait and call back, you’ll likely end up racking up hefty charges due to premium rates. To further prompt a return call, they even sent me a message - supposedly from a regular landline - saying 'can’t chat right now, ring me later’. Why on earth would I do that when I’m completely in the dark about who they are or when they might be free to talk? Honestly, it would be far more logical for them to ring me back when they’re available. In reality, they’re just trying every trick in the book to get me to initiate the call. I’ve blocked this number and would love to block any and all 0207 946 xxxx numbers if that were an option. It seems like these scam calls invariably originate from that range.
