Diane Mayhew from Mitchell called me about some made-up accident. When I asked her to say her name and company again, she hung up on me - daft woman! Then she rang back from 020 7946 1941, so I managed to get her info. Once she noticed I was jotting down her details, she disconnected again. Now I’m just waiting for a call from some number ending in 51, I bet!

I'm so annoyed getting calls from this number and similar ones all the time. I've found a little trick to mess with these scammers. When a website asks for your phone number and you don’t wanna share your real one (to stop spam), just give them the number of one of these annoying callers instead. Might slow them down and keep them tied up for a while!

Got a call from a dodgy firm trying to shovel fake personal injury claims. They started with "I'm ringing about the car accident you were in, which wasn't your fault." Me: "Which accident's that then?" Them: "The one you had, which wasn't your fault." It just went round in circles. I asked straight up who they were and their company name - they hung up. This was a UK landline so they should be traceable. Why does OFCOM seem powerless against these scammers?
