020 77138037 Got a robo call saying there’s some sort of tax fraud linked to my phone. Cut off straight away and slapped a block on the number.

Got a call around 9.30 in the morning. A guy with a South African accent said he was doing a survey about a small account I supposedly had, linked to a holiday rental. I told him I wasn’t interested in taking part and ended the call.

Got a call asking for whoever handles the money matters at the company. Told them we don’t do cold calls here and to send us details in writing. They claimed someone else had said to ring back, but I told them I was the only one answering phones. They just ended the call after that.

PLEASE DON'T BUY A WHISTLE. To the person from 29th May suggesting using a whistle to annoy the caller - seriously, don't. My daughter’s first proper job was in telemarketing. Everyone has to begin somewhere. She’s a lovely person and would never try to rip anyone off. Telemarketing is often a tough and thankless gig, but it's not a scam or against the law. This number belongs to a market research firm called Perspective. It’s just as irritating and frustrating to me as it is to you, but don’t lash out at some poor young person earning minimum wage making these calls. :-(

Got a call from a really polite lady asking for the owner or manager, i figured it was a business. Told her they weren’t around and offered to take a message but she stayed silent and just ended the call.

A guy with a foreign accent called saying it was a survey from my bank, asking all sorts of questions. I put him on hold and rang my bank to check - they said they don’t do surveys or have anyone else doing them for them. When I went back to the phone, the caller had already hung up.

I swear I heard him say HMRC or something. But then he mentioned my business name and started asking about how I’ve been using my bank account.

Got a few calls on my personal phone from a place called BDRC or maybe Perspective Marketing, said they were from my bank. They even knew my name, which was a bit creepy! They wanted to ask me stuff about my accounts. I told them I wasn’t comfortable talking until I’d double checked with my bank. They gave me a number to call to prove who they were. When I rang the bank, they had no clue about any company working for them. Bank told me to just give that number to them so the “company” can get in touch with the bank directly.
