SCAM ALERT. Some absolute muppet rang me up, pretending to be from O2, saying I got 30% off for the next six months πŸ˜‚ I just said cheers and ended the call while chuckling. Don’t let these lot trick you, they’re proper little scammers.

I got a call from someone saying they were with EE, my phone company, offering a deal to lower my bill. They asked how much I was paying right now. I asked if they didn’t already have that info, but they said no, they were from the Promotions team and didn’t have access to my account details. I found that a bit shady and asked if they knew my name, but they said no again and just wanted my current payment to help with the discount. I told them I wasn’t sure this was legit and hung up. The caller wasn’t rude or anything, just spoke super fast like it was some kind of emergency.

Got a call from someone claimin to be from O2, said they had an amazing offer for me. This was the third time they called, each time from a different 'London' number, but they all said they were with O2. I just blocked all the numbers straight away.

My phone keeps blocking this number as spam without me doing anything, but it still shows up as blocked in my recent calls. It rings every single day, not sure why since it never goes through. Total spam!!

Got calls from this scammer too, with numbers finishing in 6874 and 6877. When I did pick up, there was a lot of noise like a busy call centre, and I couldn’t really make out what the bloke was saying except he was trying to pass off as my phone network. They keep ringing every day this week but from different numbers. I haven’t bothered picking up since then.

I received a dodgy phone call purporting to be from O2...

They were fishing for my personal details, claiming they could lower my phone charges.

Those dodgy scammers keep ringing, texting, and even posting phony letters non-stop. Sadly, even when you report or block them, it hardly makes a difference since they just move on to bother other numbers. What’s actually helped me loads is letting out a loud whistle right into the phone - seems to freak them out! Seriously, it’s worked wonders and I reckon they’ve finally crossed my number off their calling lists. Proper legend move, no joke! πŸ‘Œ

There was a brief pause before a chipper voice with an Asian accent said, “Hello, this is so and so from PC World.” I wasn’t really in the mood to deal with it and kept my cool, just ended the call with a quick goodbye. Not entirely sure what kind of scam this is, but it’s definitely an unwanted sales call and I have a feeling it could be something dodgier than that.

The person on the phone said they were calling from India. Seems like a trick to snatch unhappy O2 users with some kind of better offer. I’m not even with O2 and they told me my number was randomly picked. They promised to take my number off their list. Kinda surprised cause they sounded quite polite for one of these scam calls!

Total scam. These so-called O2 people aren’t real at all. They send you a code and tell you not to give it to anyone, but if you do share it with them, they can get into your whole account. I’m pretty sure they mess with your SIM cards and try to buy phones in your name. Don’t fall for it. When I asked them about it, they just hung up and blocked me straight away.

WATCH OUT FOR FAKE O2 SCAMS, DON'T ANSWER OR SHARE ANY INFO! O2 just emailed me saying NEVER hand over your details, it’s not really them. *SECURITY ALERT* You’ll get a one-time code soon.
