I got a call from someone saying they were with EE, my phone company, offering a deal to lower my bill. They asked how much I was paying right now. I asked if they didn’t already have that info, but they said no, they were from the Promotions team and didn’t have access to my account details. I found that a bit shady and asked if they knew my name, but they said no again and just wanted my current payment to help with the discount. I told them I wasn’t sure this was legit and hung up. The caller wasn’t rude or anything, just spoke super fast like it was some kind of emergency.

When I did pick up, there was a lot of noise like a busy call centre, and I couldn’t really make out what the bloke was saying except he was trying to pass off as my phone network. Those dodgy scammers keep ringing, texting, and even posting phony letters non-stop. Sadly, even when you report or block them, it hardly makes a difference since they just move on to bother other numbers. What’s actually helped me loads is letting out a loud whistle right into the phone - seems to freak them out! Seriously, it’s worked wonders and I reckon they’ve finally crossed my number off their calling lists. Proper legend move, no joke! 👌

There was a brief pause before a chipper voice with an Asian accent said, “Hello, this is so and so from PC World.” I wasn’t really in the mood to deal with it and kept my cool, just ended the call with a quick goodbye. Not entirely sure what kind of scam this is, but it’s definitely an unwanted sales call and I have a feeling it could be something dodgier than that.

Total scam. These so-called O2 people aren’t real at all. They send you a code and tell you not to give it to anyone, but if you do share it with them, they can get into your whole account. I’m pretty sure they mess with your SIM cards and try to buy phones in your name. Don’t fall for it. When I asked them about it, they just hung up and blocked me straight away.
