Didn’t pick up, this is the third strange number that’s called me over the past month.

Got two calls from this number on my phone. Haven't shared my number with any companies, so this is definitely against TPS regulations. No doubt, I’ve blocked it straight away. Tagged it as "risky" since someone might get tricked by it eventually.

I got a call from a lady with an Indian accent asking if I’m happy with my O2 service. I said yes, but then she tried to get me to give my personal info, claiming I’d won a prize. I knew right away it was a total scam!!! Why don’t the authorities do something to stop these scammers??

somebody rang me up pretending to be from O2 saying i’d won an apple watch, i fell for it and gave them my card info. they ended up buying an iphone with my card. turns out the apple watch giveaway was a total scam.

Loads of random numbers are usually scams. I never answer or ring back. If it's something real, they normally leave a voicemail. If you get dodgy texts, report them to 7726.

Someone rang saying they were from O2 tryin to sell me an upgrade. I asked about my current plan and they got the info totally wrong, so I just ended the call straight away.

They claimed to be from O2 and offered a 30% discount, kept saying it wasn’t a scam.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent, not the usual American kind, saying they were from O2...

Got two calls from someone pretending to be EE in just the last couple hours. You can tell because they say they’re from "your service provider" instead of naming the real company. I always ask them to confirm who my provider is, and even if they say the right one, I say it’s not and that I know it’s a scam call - they end up hanging up straight away.

I've received a couple of dodgy calls lately, with someone pretending to be from Three Mobile. Quite the nuisance, to say the least!

Got a call from someone acting like they were EE about my contract, but I don’t even have one with EE! Definitely a scam. Blocked and reported straight away!

A woman named Iris said she was with EE. From the number they call, they probably already know which provider the number's on. They asked how much I pay monthly, then offered me a 30% discount on my bill plus a brand new iPhone 14 Pro Max with 512GB storage. After that, they wanted all my personal info. Suddenly, the call dropped. They rang back and put me through to a supervisor who said they'd email me. Still no email though. Not sure if it’s legit or not, but it definitely seems a bit dodgy to me.

Someone called claiming to be from O2, checking if I was satisfied with their service. I’ve never been with O2 before. I just went along with it and they said I could get a discount on my monthly bill. But when I asked what I was actually paying right now because I couldn’t recall, they just ended the call.

It appears that a nefarious crime syndicate is attempting to pilfer your personal details for the purposes of committing financial deceit. I strongly urge you to report this number and block it without delay.

I received a dodgy call today from someone claiming to be affiliated with O2. Just the same old tricksters trying to pull a fast one on us.

They claimed to be representing O2 and were offering me a 30% discount. I kept shouting "SCAM!" with every breath until they finally gave up and ended the call. Perhaps a bit immature, but I couldn't resist. I could still hear them insisting it wasn’t a scam, though.

I got a message from O2 (legit) warning me about a one-time code I supposedly asked for, but I didnt actually request it. The code came through and then this number called me soon after. I ignored the call. They tried ringing again a couple hrs later and I didn’t pick up. They were even calling my home phone last week.

Absolutely a scam! Claimed to be associated with Carphone Warehouse, they presented an enticing offer that was supposedly on par with their website. However, they requested my banking information. Proper dodgy, if you ask me!

A lady with a thick Indian accent said she was from some company I couldn't catch, saying she was calling for O2 about a discount for all phone users, no matter if you're with O2 or not. I cut her off and asked if she knew about the Telephone Preference Service. She seemed clueless. I told her she was actually breaking the rules. Then she just hung up.

Whenever I get a call and the person’s English is really bad, plus there’s loads of chatter in the background, I just figure it’s a scam and end the call. Looks like I wasn’t wrong this time either...

Received a call from 02045996818 on my mobile; the number was unfamiliar, so I opted not to pick up. There wasn’t a voicemail either. Seems like bypassing it was a wise choice after all!

As soon as I picked up, they disconnected the call. I could hear the commotion of a call centre in the background. I ought to have been wiser than to engage with an unfamiliar number! Having read through other remarks, I've now blocked the number.

So, I tried ringing back, only to find out the number is out of service, just like a similar call I received the day before. I've gone ahead and blocked the number, as well as reported it to Ofcom.

I received a call from this number claiming to be from O2, promising me a 30% discount on an upgrade. It all seemed rather fishy, so I got in touch with O2 directly to verify. They confirmed that they never reach out to customers with such offers over the phone. Moreover, they mentioned that they operate just one call centre in the UK. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

SCAM ALERT! Make sure to report these to 7726 (it’s not a police number) and block the caller straight away. I’d also suggest writing to your MP with two questions: why can’t we report scam calls directly through the police’s 'action fraud' scam report form anymore? And why hasn’t the phone industry rolled out Caller ID Authentication tech to help cut down scam calls? If you get scam texts, forward them to 7726. Plus, send any dodgy emails or screenshots of scam messages to the police on ‘[email protected]’ so they can look into it.

SCAM - They claim to be from your mobile provider and say they’re giving you a discount. In reality, they want to break into your account and ask for the one-time code sent to your phone. If you hand it over, you’ll end up with huge bills for pricey iPhones ordered in your name and sent to the crooks. Today, a young woman calling herself "Shireen" rang me from a small call centre, speaking with an Indian or Punjabi accent but quite clear English. Honestly, mate, get a proper job and stop scamming before you land yourself in serious trouble!
