A woman with an Asian accent called me, claiming her name was ‘Roy’!! She said I was a loyal EE customer and could get 40% off my plan!! Forty percent off?! Sounds ace but sounded way too good to be true!! And yep, it was!! I told ‘Roy’ straight up that I wasn’t having any of it and ended the call sharpish!! ‘Roy’ was obviously sticking to some script while I slammed down the phone!!

So, I got a call just yesterday from someone claiming to be with O2, talking about some discount offer. I wanted to check so I asked what name they had on their records. Usually, they just hang up when I ask, but this lot tried to send me a code. Apparently, if you give them the code, they can see your info. Honestly, don't fall for it because your bank details could be linked to their system, especially if you pay bills through direct debit. It’s better to be safe than sorry!

Then today they called again, I answered and there was this robot voice saying “you have been removed from your conference call” and then it just hung up on me. Weird!

02045996816 I’m pretty sure the guy who’s been stalking me shared my number with some sketchy sites. I got a call that kept ringing forever, and when I finally picked up, they just hung up straight away. It definitely came across like some call centre from India. I blocked that number, but then another similar one popped up and called me again almost immediately. This kind of thing’s been happening to me for more than a year now.

Seems like this number isn’t linked with any known networks here in the UK. You might want to send any suspicious texts you get from it to 7726. It’s a free service most UK mobile users can use to flag spam messages or calls. By forwarding the message, your network can trace where it came from and potentially stop that sender if they’re causing trouble.

It’s quite laughable, really, how they peddle their ridiculous propositions. Blithering idiots, the lot of them!

Someone rang me claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse, trying to sell me an iPhone 14 Pro Max for £35 a month. It's clearly a scam, likely fishing for my bank details. Don't fall for it!

I tend to ignore calls from numbers that aren’t saved in my phone, so I let it ring without picking up.

As soon as I picked up the call, they disconnected without a word. Definitely a con artist!

I received a call claiming to be from O2, informing me that I’d been selected for an upgrade. The thing is, I'm not even an O2 customer! When I pointed this out, the caller grew rather aggressive, which I found quite surprising.

I received a call from someone who had a thick Indian accent claiming to be from O2, insisting that I was eligible for an upgrade. The thing is, I don’t even have an account with O2! It was clearly a scam attempt. I immediately ended the call.

Absolutely infuriating, isn’t it? I had an encounter with some dodgy scammers posing as O2, my mobile provider. They fired off a text claiming I needed to enter a code to access my account but spun it as if it were a discount offer. I kept playing along with "Simon"-not exactly the most common name in India, right? 😂 I feigned confusion over his hastily spoken words and repeatedly asked him to slow down. I even tossed a few random numbers his way, just to mess with him. After a good solid ten minutes of back-and-forth, the bloke was clearly vexed and decided to hang up. Did I say something to tick him off? Who knows! 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a scammer - best not to pick up the phone!

It was quite obvious that the person was attempting to disguise their true accent with a phony American twang while pretending to be from O2. To make matters worse, they complemented me on my voice, which felt entirely unsettling and bordering on harassment. I promptly ended the call and blocked their number without hesitation!

He asked if I was Lola, which is definitely not my name, and then proceeded to say my real name. Quite the mix-up!

Received a call purporting to be from O2, claiming they could offer me a hefty 40% discount. Decided to block the number as it felt like a dodgy scam.

I received messages from someone claiming to be from O2, asking me for codes to access my account. I knew straight away they weren't legitimate! It’s quite amusing, really, as the official O2 texts explicitly warn against sharing codes with anyone, even if they claim to be from the company. They’ve really dug their own grave there. If you get a call like that, just end the conversation right away! Complete scammers!

I received a call from someone purporting to represent O2, but I'm pretty certain it was a scam.

I keep receiving calls from individuals impersonating O2, and it's becoming quite the nuisance! Just when I block one number, they ring me from another. At one point, a caller even had the audacity to claim I was his spouse, addressing me as his “boo.” It’s worth mentioning that my partner was initially caught off guard by one of these calls. The scammers sounded so credible that she nearly fell for their tricks. By the time she figured out what was happening, they’d already attempted to change our address linked to the O2 account. Fortunately, she promptly contacted O2 and got it all resolved! Honestly, these callers are nothing more than relentless opportunists!

I received a rather dubious phone call from someone purporting to be from O2, claiming they had a fantastic 40% discount on offer. Curiously, they insisted that I share a code sent by O2, which I knew I shouldn’t disclose under any circumstances. I suspected it was a scam, but felt a little cheeky and wanted to see how far I could lead them on. When I informed the caller that I couldn’t share the code because they were clearly attempting to con me, they asked how I could be so certain. I pointed out that for starters, they hadn’t bothered to verify my identity, and I repeated that I also wasn’t obliged to divulge any codes. Furthermore, this number has been flagged for fraudulent activity. I told him it was a rather feeble attempt and that most people are far too savvy these days - perhaps he should consider finding an honest job instead. He politely responded with a ‘thank you, ma’am’ before promptly hanging up.

So, I received a call claiming I was eligible for a discount with O2. They sent me a one-time passcode, and I read it back to them but messed it up quite deliberately and at a snail's pace. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t go through, and they asked me to try again. At that point, I snapped and told them not to be such an absolute fool, to which they responded with an insult and promptly ended the call. It was oddly gratifying!

I received a couple of calls from these numpties, with one chap calling himself 'Roy' (genuine laugh, an Indian 'Roy'!). He was chatting away nonsense for what felt like an eternity, claiming to be from EE and even offered me a whopping 40% discount. When he asked about my last bill, I couldn't help but point out, "Shouldn't you already know that if you're actually from EE?" In the end, I had a right laugh and sent them packing after giving them a taste of their own medicine!

They claimed to be from O2, offering me a delightful 30% off my bill! 😂 They even texted with a code for accessing my O2 account. When I declined to share it and cheekily asked if they knew my name-after all, how could anyone not want to treat me to a discount-they hung up!

It was supposedly from O2, classic scam nonsense. I decided to have a bit of fun and strung them along for a while. Playing the clueless one, I got them to ring me back three times before they finally threw in the towel. Quite the laugh!

This number seems dodgy, possibly a scam. It rang for about twenty seconds before cutting off, and then it called back straight away but hung up without saying anything. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Absolutely avoid engaging with these callers! They’re just a dodgy outfit masquerading as O2. They'll try to fish for your one-time passcode-whatever you do, don’t share it with them! It's all a ruse!

Got a dodgy call from this number claiming to be from O2, saying I could snag a 30% discount. Then they had the audacity to ask for my OTP! Whatever you do, don't fall for it! Just hang up and make sure you block them straight away. Stay safe out there!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from EE, supposedly offering a 30% discount. I had my doubts and mentioned that I suspected they weren’t genuinely from EE. Rattled by my response, they insisted they were, but when I made it clear that I wasn't about to divulge any personal information, they abruptly terminated the call! To add to my suspicions, I hadn’t received any texts from EE requesting feedback about their services, so I'm convinced it was nothing more than a scam.

Received a call from this number just after midday, but I chose to ignore it since I don't generally answer calls from unfamiliar contacts. I attempted to return the call, yet it went directly to voicemail. Subsequently, I decided to look up the number and stumbled upon this information.
