Got calls from 02080791419 on both my landline and mobile. I only share my landline with doctors, banks, and essential home services, so it’s annoying to get random calls. I always try to block those cookies that collect phone numbers to sell to telemarketers and scammers, who keep ringing me up. This number is definitely going on my block list now!

I got a call from a woman claiming she was with O2, trying to pitch me an improved deal. It was the typical nonsense I’ve come to expect from scam calls.

Got a call from a woman saying she wasn’t from 02. Then, a bit later, the same voice rings me from a Motherwell number - I just ended the call straight away. After that, another call came through, this time from a London number, same person again. I told them off and cut the call. 100% a scam, no doubt about it!

Got a bunch of calls from random numbers where someone pretending to be O2 was pushing a huge discount on plans. I told the bloke straight up, “This is a SCAM” and told him to jog on. Don’t fall for it, people - it's all a load of rubbish!

A bloke from India rang up asking if I'd signed up for some freebie or whatever. I kept asking what the free thing actually was, but he just wouldn't say. After I told him I wasn't interested, he just ended the call straight away.

Received a call purporting to be from EE about some sort of promotion. The moment I didn't either confirm or refute his claim that "I can see from your number you’re already an EE contract holder," he abruptly ended the conversation when I probed further regarding the purpose of the call. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

I got a call from someone saying he was with EE Mobile and that there was a special offer. He mentioned he could tell from my phone number that I was already an EE customer. I neither confirmed nor denied it and just asked what the call was regarding. Then, suddenly, he just cut off the call. Definitely feels like a scam to me.

Somebody rang me saying they were from Auto Netwok, though you can tell they switched up their company name because loads of people have reported this number before. I just told them I’m not interested and then blocked the caller straight away.

Yet another one of those dodgy scam calls! What’s really helped me cut down on these calls is just blowing a loud whistle right into the phone. Honestly, it’s worked most of the time, so I’d suggest giving it a go. I reckon they’ve probably taken my number off loads of their lists by now, haha.

Seriously, why isn't there a law against this nonsense? They could defo use AI to catch these fools but nope, nothing’s being done!

I've been getting calls from someone saying they're with 02 or sometimes other network providers, but I’m quite sure it’s a scam. They keep switching which company they pretend to represent, so I don’t trust it one bit. Really annoying!

I reckon it was just one of those annoying spam calls. Went ahead and blocked the number and filed a report.

This guy called me saying he was from O2 but it definitely felt like a scam. Sounded way too pushy and kept trying to get my details. I reckon they were just pretending to be from the company. Be careful, folks!

So someone said they were with O2 How I knew it was dodgy 1: The number didn't look legit at all 2: The sound quality was shockingly bad, not what you'd expect from a proper firm 3: When I asked why they weren't ringing from a landline, the response was rubbish and didn't make sense

Got a call from someone with a really thick, nearly impossible to understand Indian accent, claiming they could give me 40% off my EE phone contract. They sounded like a woman and kept pushing me to tell them how much my last bill was. When I said I didn’t know, they told me to check my bank statement. Absolutely filthy scammers, really gross.

Just a heads up, this number is pretending to be O2 and uses fake names like "Adam Smith." They even send texts that look like they're from O2, asking for a code and saying there's a 30% discount on deals! Don’t reply - best to block this number straight away!

Someone rang me saying they were from EE and, as a valued customer, they wanted to lower my bill. Sounds tempting right? Thing is, I don’t pay the bill myself since it’s part of a family plan, so I sussed pretty quick it was a con. I told them they had the wrong number and they just hung up right away. It’s a bit confusing because I *do* have EE, so they almost made it sound legit.

Got a call from a guy named Justin, sounded Indian, claiming he was from EE. I asked what the call was about and he said something to do with my EE account. Thing is, I’m not even with EE. He went on rambling, but there was so much noise in the background and his accent was super hard to follow. I told him straight up I didn’t trust him one bit and called him a scammer, then he just disconnected. Number’s blocked now.

Got a call on my mum’s mobile from the number 02045996817 which turned out to be a scam. The guy claimed to be from O2 but had a really heavy Indian accent and there was a lot of background noise so couldn’t make out much. When I asked about the noise, he suddenly went silent! He then said my mum supposedly owed £5,000! Since it’s under my account, I knew straight away it was dodgy. Luckily I was with her and told him I’m a police officer and would be reporting the call as a fraud attempt. After that, he kept saying "no ma’am, no ma’am" and then just hung up!
