Got a call saying I'd joined some Lindor contest last year. My phone froze so I couldn’t actually end the call. I told them I never entered it, but this woman with a South African accent kept insisting I did. I just kept saying 'No' and then she suddenly cut me off. At least they didn’t ask for any bank info like I’ve heard others had.

Got a random call from a woman named Sally who sounded Indian. She said I’d won 11 free tickets for the next Euromillions draw and asked me to choose some numbers. Then she tried to get my bank details, saying they needed it to pay out the prize. I told her I’d only give that if I actually won. She kept insisting it was necessary to confirm the ticket. Said I’d hear back if I won. Seems like a scam to me. Watch out for this one!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, she said her name was Sally and told me I’d won 11 free tickets for the upcoming Euromillions draw. She tried to get me to choose some numbers then asked for my bank details so they could transfer the winnings. I told her I’d only give those if I actually won. She insisted they needed the info to sort out the ticket, but I told her to phone back if I win anything. Sounds dodgy to me. Stay careful folks.

I just had a rather peculiar phone call from a lady named Sally, who was clearly speaking with an Indian accent. She claimed I had miraculously won 11 complimentary tickets for this week’s Euromillions draw. The conversation took a turn when she insisted I select some numbers and then proceeded to ask for my bank account information to deposit my supposed winnings. I cheekily replied that she could have my details if I actually won anything. She insisted it was necessary to process the tickets, but I told her to ring me back if I hit the jackpot. Honestly, what a joke! Stay alert, everyone.

Got a call from someone claiming I’d won 39 free entries for Friday’s EuroMillions draw from a contest I supposedly entered back in October 2021! They knew my full name, address, and even my birthday. They told me my free tickets would be sent by email, but then asked which bank account I wanted the money paid into if I won. When I asked why they needed my bank info if they were emailing me the tickets, the bloke just hung up. Sounded like he had an Indian accent and said his name was Liam. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call saying I’d won some Ferrero Rocher contest or something, which I don’t remember signing up for at all… sounded pretty nice at first but then he started asking for my bank info like account number and sort code. Didn’t feel right at all. After checking out the reviews here, I’m convinced it’s a scam since he already had my name, address and birthday!

Somebody rang me up saying I’d won a place in some competition for a Samsung and that I could enter the lottery ten times a week. They already had my details like dob, email, name and where I live. I asked for more info because I was a bit puzzled, but then they just cut the call. The lady on the other end had a South African accent, which stood out to me since I’m South African too.

I didn’t pick up the call and it went straight to voicemail, but there was no message left. After reading the comments here, I’m glad I didn’t bother. I usually ignore numbers I don’t know, and lately there’s been a lot more of them ringing. So far I’ve checked a bunch and they all seem like scams.

I got a call saying I’d won some kind of lottery prize from a Coca Cola competition, which I never even entered. They knew my full name, address and date of birth, which creeped me out. When I asked how I could get the money, I said a big cheque sent to my home would be fine. Then they said it had to go into a bank account and asked for my details. First, they said they were calling from South Africa, then later changed it to London, then said they were offshore. Definitely a scam, I wouldn't waste your time with them.

I got a call saying I’d won some kind of contest, sounded alright at first. But then they wanted my bank sort code and account number, and that’s when I got suspicious. i just saw this number pop up but didn’t pick up cause it looked unfamiliar. big thanks to everyone leaving their comments though, they really help! honestly, with all the dodgy calls going around, it’s hard to know who is legit. my tip? if it’s a strange number, just let it ring out. these types rarely leave a message, which makes me think it’s probably a scam.

I received a rather tenacious call from someone who claimed to be from ESB Energy. He had a distinct Irish accent and was quite insistent on persuading me to change my energy supplier to theirs. While it didn’t strike me as a scam, it did feel very much like a sales pitch. Ultimately, I opted to block the number as his persistence was a bit off-putting.

Just got a ring from this number saying I’d won some sort of online contest. Problem is, I’ve never entered anything like that. The bloke said it was from March, like maybe I’d forgotten but nah, I’m pretty sure I didn’t. The guy spoke really clear English, barely any accent, but I had a feeling he might’ve been Indian - just a hunch, not trying to be rude. When I told him I never joined any comp, he just hung up on me. He also mentioned something about being “accepted” for something, not exactly “winning,” which made me a bit iffy about the whole thing.

Got a call from a friendly sounding Irish fella the other day, which makes sense since ESB Energy is based in Ireland. They were trying to convince me to change my energy provider to theirs. The way the chat dragged out made me think the call wasn’t actually made from Glasgow. Just be upfront and say you’re not interested!
