Received a call purportedly from Maybelline, asserting that I'd won complimentary entries for the Euro Millions. They had my full name and date of birth, which was a bit alarming. They then asked for my lucky numbers and, rather worryingly, my bank details. I regret confirming my name and birth date, but in the moment, I did. Eventually, I realised it was a scam, so I ended the call and promptly blocked the number.

Got a call from a lady claiming I’d just “won” a grand - I usually enter these sorts of comps so I thought maybe it was legit. Then she started going on about some free EuroMillions tickets and being part of a group with just 150 others. I just let her carry on chatting. She already had loads of my info - name, address, dob, email and phone. When she asked me where I wanted the winnings paid, I just cracked up and told her it sounded fishy, then hung up. Total SCAMMERS, watch out!

I got a call from a bloke who said it was 8 o'clock and time to get the party started, then told me I'd won some Cadbury chocolate prize. I told him I hadn't signed up for any contest, and he quickly said it must have been a mix-up before hanging up on me.

I tend to be quite cautious with calls of this nature, yet I decided to give it a listen while I was on holiday abroad (and they were covering the extra cost, mind you!). It was quite alarming how much personal data they seemed to possess! Once they started repeatedly asking for my bank details, I promptly ended the call. No doubt about it, it was a scam. Best not to fall for these tricks!

Got a call claiming I won 20 free lottery lines from a competition back in October 2021. They said someone had shared my name, address, DOB, and phone number with them. They asked for my bank info, but I didn’t give it, and then they just hung up. I’m curious when those "free" lottery lines will be sent out! :)
