Phone number ☎️ 02045204987 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation targeting UK residents with calls claiming refunds on non-existent washing machine warranties or appliance insurance overpayments. Callers, often using faked local numbers and foreign accents, try to obtain bank or cheque book details under the pretext of processing refunds. Many recipients highlight early-morning harassment, repeated calls despite blocking, and use of outdated or incorrect personal information. I entered my info to sign up for the Immediate 2.0 Iplex site, and not long after, I got a call from a lady who said she was calling all the way from Switzerland. She was really pushy about investing in bitcoin.

About a fortnight back, someone rang me asking if I'd been in a no fault car crash. I told them, yeah, that was like fifty years ago. Since then, I've blocked that number, but I've still had a couple of silent calls from numbers that looked pretty similar, only they're calling much earlier now. Quite annoying really.

I got a call about a “refund” for some white goods insurance direct debit I supposedly paid too much on, which I’ve never even signed up for. I told them to just send the money back and then ended the call.

Just after 8 this morning, the phone rang and it woke everyone up in the house. Didn’t get a single sorry from them. Pretty clear it was an international call. Tried to ask them questions but they just talked over me, like they were coached to ignore what I said. Definitely some sort of insurance scam. Best to say nothing except maybe a polite “bugger off”.

Watch out, this is definitely a scam. They’ll begin by pretending you already own appliances and that your insurance has to be renewed or taken out immediately. You’ve got to be careful with these calls.

No, it’s actually from India. This is definitely a refund con, and they all use almost the exact same spiel: offering £119 back for white goods or a boiler, with slight changes like calling it "General Appliances," "Home Domestic," or "Domestic General" and stuff like that. Their lines are really poor quality - which is typical - they mainly target folks who’re a bit more susceptible. You might find they drop a postcode near you to claim that’s your address, or maybe they’re working off outdated or incorrect info.

Just to add on from what I mentioned earlier: these lot throw out random locations for their so-called call centre in London. I’ve rung them back loads of times just to mess about and annoy them - honestly, they’re pretty daft. Once, they claimed their office was “right next to gate 5 at the Arsenal Stadium” - like that makes any sense as an address! Please don’t bother giving these muppets any attention. But if you do have spare time, go ahead and waste theirs instead. If you want to find out more about how this whole scam racket works, especially since most of these scammers operate from India, I’d recommend checking out a guy from Northern Ireland called Jim Browning on YouTube. His channel, “Tech Support Scams,” exposes these places by hacking into their systems, deleting their files, and helping the police catch them. There are a few heroes like him out there. Jim’s videos have millions of views, and sometimes the people running these scam centres actually get a bit of a conscience and start helping to shut them down.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent about a refund of £19 for an extended warranty on a gadget we bought like 5 years back. She already knew my name and where I live, which was a bit creepy. She wanted my bank details, but not my card number. I played along just to see where this would go and ended up with her asking me what bank I use! Honestly, sounds like a total scam to me, so watch out - it’s definitely a dodgy call.

I waited until the phone stopped ringing before jotting down the number from my landline. Checked your site and yep, it turned out to be a scam like I thought. My family sometimes phones my mobile since I’m on a pension. This is the third dodgy call I’ve had on the landline in the past couple of days. Proper harassment and really worrying!

Got a call yesterday too, didn't pick up - straight to voicemail as usual. Can't say I'm keen on these calls but I guess it's got to be dealt with somehow! Maybe I'll actually answer up next time and cheekily ask for their bank info, so I can just bung £150 straight their way. Would save all this faffing about!

I picked up a call without checking the number cos my sister often rings around this hour. They asked for me and claimed to be from Home Repairs, saying I was owed £190 back for overpaying on washing machine cover - which I don’t even have! They then asked if I wanted the refund sent to my current or savings account?? I told them I never had any such insurance and if it was true, they’d already have my bank info. Then, the call just cut off!

I received a call saying I’d overpaid by £190 on a washing machine warranty. I told them to simply put the money back into the same bank account it came from. That completely threw them off! I ended up spending about six minutes on the phone trying to make it clear they didn’t need any of my info - just return the cash. They eventually gave up and hung up. If scammers are gonna do this, you’d think they’d at least try to sound believable! Honestly, don’t the authorities or phone companies do anything to shut these numbers down and stop these nasty folks? It’s beyond annoying.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent trying to sell me insurance for my home appliances. Seemed like a total scam to me.

Got a call today around 12.43pm (10 March 2022) from a guy with an Indian accent who said his name was James. He kept dodging the question about what kind of repair insurance he was talking about. Eventually, he asked if I had washing machine cover, and I called it out as a total scam and told him to jog on before hanging up. Lately, I’ve been getting loads of calls from this or similar numbers. Also, numbers starting with 0204 aren’t actually from the UK, so watch out and don’t fall for it!

They kept bugging me, asking for my IBAN. Pretty obvious it's a trick to get access to your bank details. Watch out, it’s definitely not legit.

They called me back right after I’d hung up because I wouldn’t share my bank details with them. Total scam alert.

Refund for the washing machine fix? No chance. I cut her off pretty quickly and nicely told her it was a scam before she could go on with the call.

They rang me a couple of times but didn't bother leaving any message on my answerphone... If they were legit, surely they'd leave a message. Feels like a scam to me.

Lately, I keep getting calls from numbers beginning with 020452049, and it seems like the last two digits change each time, going up by one. I’ve just been ignoring them and not answering.

I got a call from some company I’d never heard of, claiming they’d accidentally charged me £199 for washing machine insurance - something I’ve never signed up for! When I asked the woman which dodgy firm she was calling from, she got abruptly cut off by someone else before she could answer.

Just got a call from some bloke claiming to be from ? saying he’s gonna send me £190 refund or something. When I asked what it was for, he just hung up on me. Weird.

I got a call from this number claiming I’d paid too much for my appliance insurance and that they’d send me a refund. They asked for my bank info to sort it out, but it felt dodgy. Definitely a scam - if you give them your details, they’ll probably drain your account. Watch out!

Called by this person claiming I'd been charged too much for my washing machine warranty. Thing is, I never even got a warranty for it. I asked him to send all the details over in writing to prove his claim. Suddenly, the phone went dead!

Got a call from someone saying they were from 'Legal and General' insurance and that they wanted to send a refund straight to my bank. I asked them to just mail me a cheque instead. They kept pushing though, so I just hung up. Pretty clear they were trying to scam me.

Got hit by a scammer again, unbelievable.

Similar to what others mentioned, I got told I was due a refund because I apparently overpaid on my washing machine warranty. I said a cheque would be fine, but the person on the phone wasn’t having it and insisted on some other way. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call about some refund for my washing machine insurance. The person on the line spoke English real badly and had a strong Far East accent. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone overseas who already had my address, saying they wanted to give me money back for some washing machine warranty I supposedly overpaid. When I asked them which company the warranty was with, they just cut me off. Total scam, no doubt about it.

Someone called me claiming I was owed a refund for my washing machine warranty and asked me to provide my IBAN. They insisted they wouldn't request any sensitive information. Honestly, it's a risky scam because your IBAN is exactly what they’re after.

They said I was due a refund of £119. When I told them I wasn’t going to share my bank info and suggested they donate the money to charity instead, they just hung up on me. Quite rude if you ask me.
