There was quite a lot of noise in the background when I got the call. A bloke with what sounded like a foreign accent claimed he was ringing from Carphone Warehouse about some deals. I wasn't keen, so I ended the call and, after seeing what others said, I decided to block the number.

I received a rather confusing recorded greeting that welcomed me to Smart Compare, followed by a jumbled and barely intelligible request to press a series of numbers. Eventually, they offered the chance to press a specific number to be placed on their "do not contact" register. It seems like a spam operation, clearly fishing for genuine numbers. Best to just disregard and block them!
