Loads of annoying calls from someone saying they’re with Carphone Warehouse. I kept asking them to take my number off their list but they just wouldn’t listen. It’s like GDPR and DPA don’t apply to these lot. Definitely feels like a total scam.

Got a call on my work phone which only my coworkers should know about, and it was pretty odd since it's the weekend. The voice on the other end wasn't speaking English and sounded like they might be from Asia. When I picked up, they mumbled something and then just cut the call. Tried ringing back, and a recorded message came on with a bunch of menu choices. They mentioned something like 'ATL'.

I’ve blocked the number now. From what I’ve read elsewhere, these sorts of calls are usually scams.

Got another call claiming to be from Three or Currys, trying to sell me an upgrade on my phone. Like I’m that daft? Total con. I told them to piss off and said I'd come after them like a mad dog, and that their families and mates better watch out too. I’ve dealt with these kinds of pests before.

Received a call on my work mobile which is only shared with my coworkers, so it was odd to get a call on a Saturday. The caller spoke in a language I couldn't understand, sounded like an Asian accent, and when I picked up, they said something then just hung up. I tried calling back but was met with an automated message followed by a menu of choices. The recording mentioned something like ‘at. *blocked.’ From what I’ve read in other reports, these are definitely scammers.

My work phone rang, which was unusual since only my coworkers know that number and it's a weekend! The person on the line had an accent I couldn’t place and wasn’t speaking in English. When I picked up, they said something quickly then cut off. I tried ringing back and got a recorded message with several choices, and they mentioned being from 'ATL' or something like that. I’ve blocked the number now. From what I’ve seen online, it looks like these folks are scammers.

Beware of scams! If you want to report scam calls, just search for ‘action fraud’ and visit the official police-uk website. Head over to the ‘report phishing attempt’ section, take your time to read all the info there, then enter the details of the scam straight into the police’s database. Don’t forget to add any links or website addresses you have. This is really the only way for the police to get a handle on how widespread these fraud attempts are.

Even though I’m on the do not call list for both my mobile and my home phone, these annoying people still manage to ring me. It’s about time they found real work instead of bothering disabled pensioners like me.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Carphone Warehouse offering a fake upgrade. I told them this number’s registered with the Telephone Preference Service so they shouldn’t be ringing me. Their reply? Basically told me to buzz off in a not-so-nice way. Lovely!
