He boasts of having information but is shockingly clueless. It's a right shambles, and to think he’s preying on those who are already in a vulnerable position is just abhorrent. I got a call from this number earlier today around 4:15 in the afternoon, on my home phone. The chap on the other end was very articulate, probably in his twenties, and introduced himself as Alex from the Medic Alert Foundation. Now, I do have an active subscription with them, which threw me off a bit at first - I nearly bought into it! He mentioned that I could qualify for a complimentary Medic-Alert pendant, a service I'm already signed up for. Then he started asking me some rather personal questions that he ought to have known the answers to being from the organisation, like whether I use a walking stick or wheelchair, my age, and any existing health issues. When I pointed out that he should already have that information, he just replied with a curt 'thank you for your time' and hung up! It’s pretty clear to me that this was a dodgy attempt at fraud, or at the very least trying to nab my details. It’s a real shame that every call I receive now on my landline seems to stem from some scammer. I reckon it's time to say goodbye to landline services and stick to my mobile sim and router for internet access.

On the 17th of January, 2022, I received a call from a rather articulate gentleman. He claimed he was following up on a query regarding loft insulation and its potential to cause dampness and mould. The trouble is, I never made any such enquiry! When I pointed this out, he simply said, "Thank you for your time," and promptly ended the call. It’s clear this was nothing more than a scam. This is a notorious scam that I encountered recently. The caller claimed he had my number because I supposedly had mobility or health concerns that made me eligible for a free alert system.
