They said it was about customs and excise or something like that.

Got a call from someone saying they were with HMRC, claiming I had some tax missing and that I was about to get arrested. They said they were doing me a favour since they knew I usually pay my taxes properly, but I'd apparently made a mistake. They threatened to freeze my bank accounts and even take money out, with police showing up at my house - ha, bit dramatic! They said I owed about £2,000 but I’m certain I don’t. Just a heads up, HMRC never phones like this, so watch out everyone...

I just had a call where they claimed I had to pay £1,750 to HMRC. They were super pushy about it and kept saying the matter’s been sent to the police and I'd end up getting arrested. It honestly made me feel quite stressed and worried after hanging up.
