I also got caught out by this trick, they claimed to be from HMRC and ended up taking quite a bit of money from me. I think if we all share what happened to us, maybe we can stop others from falling into the same trap. The quicker we expose these crooks, the better for everyone.

Got a bloke on the phone claiming he's a cop, telling me I’ve got some unpaid income tax and that if I don't pay up, the police will be at my door in an hour to arrest me. Told him it was rubbish and that I’d be contacting HMRC and the police to report him. He just hung up straight away.
