Earlier today, on the 12th of January, I received a phone call from someone with an Asian accent who claimed to represent Microsoft. Instinctively, I sensed it was a dodgy call, but she proceeded to pass me on to her 'manager', who introduced himself as Michael Roy, asserting he was a technician based in Reading. He was rather taken aback when I pointed out that his call reeked of a scam. After doing a bit of digging online, I found that the name pops up in several locations, which only added to my suspicions.

I'm dropping this message for my elderly mum who keeps getting calls from this number at all sorts of times. They claim to be from Microsoft, telling her there's some suspicious activity or that her computer is somehow causing trouble for others. They then threaten to cut off her Microsoft access unless she pays a fee. Even after she tells them she doesn't own a computer, they just keep going, so she ends up hanging up. Now she just lets the answerphone pick up, and they hang up themselves. Clearly, this is a scam.

Just to clarify - if a call comes through before 9 in the morning, I’m definitely not picking up. Some bloke called, said his name was "Max" and claimed to be from Microsoft, talking about my PC. When I asked which PC he meant, he just said "your Microsoft Windows computer." I told him I’ve got six of those, all safely behind a firewall, but he didn’t seem too keen to keep going after that - gave up pretty sharpish, which was a bit of a letdown. So this woman with an Asian accent rings me up, asking for me by name. I didn't say yes or anything, just asked where she was calling from. She claimed to be from Microsoft, but I wasn’t buying it. I told her straight up she was a scammer and to leave me alone. She ended the call after that. Some bloke called me by my name and said he was from Microsoft. I wasn't too sure about his accent, something odd about it. I told him straight away he was lying and hung up.

I got a call from a guy who claimed he was from Microsoft about my computer. He kept saying I had a laptop but I told him I didn’t own any device at all. After that, I just said goodbye and ended the call. Pretty clear it was a scam.

I picked up the phone around 9 in the morning, but the line went dead as soon as I did.

This morning I got a call from some bloke called Danny claiming he was ringing from Microsoft. I told him straight up that Microsoft never gets in touch with people like me directly and told him to stop wasting my time and phone someone else. Pretty obvious it was a scam.

Got a call at 8:45 in the morning, picked up the phone but they didn't say anything or leave a message. Just last week, I had about four calls coming through from various numbers claiming to be Microsoft. I’m pretty sure Microsoft never actually rings up their users, so I ignored it.

Annoying caller, best to just block it.

I've received calls from this number on two separate occasions. They asked for me by name, but the pronunciation was utterly bizarre, which made it clear they were struggling with their script. That usually signals a scam to me right away. When I pointed out his dishonesty, he unleashed a barrage of vile insults, accusing me of all sorts of racism and bigotry that seemed endless. I gave him a moment to vent before hanging up, but he clearly wasn't done. It's wise for others to exercise caution, as this scammer has an exceedingly unpleasant attitude.

For the past month, I've been getting calls every Saturday from someone saying they're with Microsoft. It's been happening like clockwork each weekend.

I got a call from 02039894211 telling me my computer was involved in some dodgy stuff and that I could end up in jail. The funny thing is, I don’t even own a computer. They told me to call them back on that same number to sort it out. Yeah, right - no chance I’m ringing them!

Got a call from some lot saying they were Microsoft, threatening me with disconnection and extra fees. Complete rubbish and sounded like a scam to me.

This call was meant to be from Microsoft, or so they said. The moment she mentioned Microsoft, I just hung up right away.

I received a rather unsettling phone call regarding my computer. The caller inquired why I had abruptly ended a prior conversation from a different number, suggesting they might revoke my computer licence. I had to trek down to Reading Thames Valley, but upon realising I’m a senior citizen, the caller promised to resolve an issue that my computer technician was unable to fix. They were quite insistent and frankly aggressive, even telling me to "go hang myself" and "go to hell." Rather unpleasant, to say the least. This transpired at 08:59 on Friday, 17th of December, 2021.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was from Microsoft. I told him that before we go any further, I'd need him to give me his full name, DOB, home address and bank info, plus the 2nd and 4th numbers from his PIN. He didn't hang about, just ended the call right there. Poor guy...

A bloke with an Asian accent called me, and when I wouldn’t give him my details, he just told me to f##k off. Not long after, he phoned again and said the same thing, telling me to go f##k myself.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, saying my computer was hacked. Obviously a scam, so I played along and told him my PC was slow to start up. After a bit, when I said I was just messing about, he ended the call. Figured I’d waste his time to stop him scamming others.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft and that if I didn’t do what they said, my computer would be shut down and stop working. Total scam, don't fall for it!

Today I got called four times from different numbers, all saying they were from Microsoft. Someone mentioned earlier that these calls were more annoying than harmful, but I can't agree. Once, I almost fell for their routine and nearly gave them remote control of my PC. These aren’t just pesky calls, they’re genuinely risky. Totally a scam and very dangerous!

It really gets on my nerves when they keep dialing asking for someone who moved out ages ago. They ring pretty much every day without fail.
