6 yearsI received a call from a number I didn't recognise, so I chose to ignore it. Later, I found a voicemail from someone claiming to be Officer Denise Gray from HMCS, stressing that it was incredibly urgent for me to get in touch using the number provided. I decided to return the call, but a gentleman with an Indian accent answered, asked for my name, and promptly hung up on me. I've tried ringing that number again, but all I get is an automated message asking me to leave a voicemail after a lengthy silence. Quite perplexing, to say the least!Denise GrayHMCS6 yearsI’ve just received a message urging me to engage a solicitor right away concerning an issue with HM Revenue and Customs. It’s absolutely hilarious! They can’t even seem to sort out their automated English properly, can they? 😂HM Revenue and Customs6 yearsI decided to ring them back, and lo and behold, they picked up with a chirpy “HMRC, good afternoon!” - which struck me as odd since it was still quite early in the day. The whole situation had the unmistakable ambiance of some noisy call centre buzzing away in the background, clearly not local. They proceeded to ask for my name and address, but then abruptly ended the call when I was left pondering why on earth they'd require that information while claiming to represent a government department... it felt rather off, to say the least.HMRC6 yearsJust received a rather dreadful voicemail purporting to be from HMRC, warning me not to disregard the message.
