I've gone through some of the comments left by other users. Earlier today, I received a call that I decided to ignore. Instead, I took the initiative to check it out on this platform and filed a report to assist others who might have taken the call. I'm quite cautious when it comes to answering unfamiliar numbers, especially if they don’t bother leaving a voicemail. This approach seems effective for me. I've now blocked this particular number on my phone and removed it from my contacts, ensuring it won’t bother me again.

I recently encountered a deceitful scheme claiming to be from the National Lottery. They knew my name and address, though they mistakenly mentioned the wrong house number-which I now regret not catching sooner. This con artist was intent on acquiring my bank account number and sort code to facilitate setting up a direct debit and supposedly transferring my winnings into my account. It was a thoroughly convincing ruse, so please, steer clear of such traps!

Just like many others have mentioned, I received a call claiming to be from the National Lottery. They kept pushing me for my bank sort code and account details so I could secure some sort of offer. I firmly declined to provide that information, no matter how many times they asked. At one point, I inquired whether sharing just my sort code would suffice for reserving the offer, to which she surprisingly suggested I might as well give my account number too, insisting the sort code was connected to my bank account and the account number was a link to the bank itself! I pointed out that she had it completely back to front, and before I knew it, she hung up quite abruptly.

I’ve fallen victim to a lottery scam. Initially, they asked for my address to send me some complimentary tickets. I flatly refused to share it with them. Then, to my shock, I received another call just a few days later and they managed to have my address! I never disclosed that information to them at any point.

They’d rung me a few times earlier but I didn’t pick up. Then this bloke, “Toby” from “Lottery Services”, called and used my first name straight away. When I questioned how he'd know my name if it’s meant to be a proper business call, he reckoned, “I didn’t phone your landline, just your mobile, so only you’d get it.” That’s not how it works though. Ended the call there.

Some bloke calling about a lottery win. I dragged the convo out as long as I could. Gotta admit, he was well persistent, didn’t want to hang up at all. After about 10 mins I told him all 0203 numbers are dodgy in my book and my phone flagged it as maybe a scam. That’s when he finally hung up.

This is nothing more than a con! They entice you with promises of complimentary National Lottery entries and then pressure you into a subscription costing six quid a week, all for a measly 1 in 13 odds of snagging a win. The bloke even mentioned that a mate of his had signed up and popped into the office to hand him a grand because he'd hit the jackpot. Seriously, what is this, some sort of fantasy world...?

They said lottery tickets only cost 20p each if you sign up for three months! What they never mention is that you’re put in a massive syndicate and they take a share from any winnings. Firms like this ought to be shut down and banned for good.

No idea who these folks are, but they ring like 3 or 4 times every day. We’ve got a call blocker on our phone so the calls don’t get through. The landline in the hall shows the number, but if they want to get through they’d have to say who they are and give some info. They never do, so we just don’t answer. These people should be stopped immediately!!! They ring up claiming you’ve won on some “10 free lottery lines” (which you never signed up for) and then push to buy more. We told them not to ring again as we’re at home with our dad who is seriously unwell and only has a few days left, but they still keep phoning. Today, they called and pretty much started arguing, saying it’s not their problem he’s ill, how were they supposed to know! I just slammed the phone down. Absolutely disgusting and horrible people!!!!!

This number has been ringing us like every hour almost nonstop for the last few days. When we answer, there’s just silence for a bit then they cut the call. We’re now having to unplug our phone for ages just to avoid it. I’m sure they’re hoping we call them back, but we definitely won’t - probably a dodgy premium number and that’s why they never speak when they call.
