I got a call supposedly from HRMC, but the voicemail they left didn't really seem proper or clear. I couldn't catch the beginning of the message, so it felt a bit off to me.

Got a call from someone named Danny Watson saying he was from HMRC and that I was being taken to court for tax fraud. Proper stressful but definitely sounded dodgy to me.

Got a voicemail from +44 20 3918 5306, said something like “don’t hang up, call right back or my lawyer will get in touch and I’m in serious trouble.” Honestly sounded like a kid made up that script. Added them straight to the blocked numbers, no way I’m dealing with that nonsense.

I keep getting calls from this number despite being registered with the National TPS. Makes me wonder if the TPS is actually doing anything at all.

This is the third time they’ve been ringing me on different numbers, including this one. A woman asked for me by name and when I asked who was calling, she just cut off the call. I could hear what sounded like a call centre in the background, so I reckon it’s probably a spam or scam call.

Got a call from a private number, but no voicemail left. When I tried to call back, it was some spammer who wouldn’t even say what business they were with since my number was hidden. Needless to say, I’ve blocked them now. Not expecting any more calls from that lot.

This bloke from Leicester, K#### Q####, says he's a devout Muslim but he’s just leeching off benefits from unbelievers and then tries to scam them over the phone. Honestly, what a ridiculous grown man he turned out to be.

Seems like they were offering some kind of debt assistance or something, but the person ringing me up didn’t speak English very well at all. I found it really hard to catch what they were trying to say.

I rang the number back but it came up as not in service, so I just blocked it.

Don't ever pay a debt collection if you don't know what it's for. Tell them you're going to report them to the authorities or pretend to be a government agent. Real debt collectors usually avoid these shady tricks since they don't want to get into legal trouble. Scammers, however, just don't care about the rules and will use whatever tactics to scare you into paying.
