Somebody rang, knew my name, mentioned something about a washing machine and ACG, then just dropped the call.

Watch out, this is definitely a con. ACG ring up pretending to be from your insurance company about a usual household gadget. They say something like, "Your insurance deal is about to finish. How’s your fridge or washing machine working? Fancy extending the cover?" But it always ends with them asking, "Just confirm your details and we’ll sort everything." They're just trying to nab your personal info. Stay alert!
