They claimed to be carrying out surveys nearby and scheduled an appointment with me. Said I just had to be over 50 and own a home, no income checks involved. Tried to find a proper website but couldn't locate one, so I called back and cancelled the appointment. Definitely gonna be more careful if they ring again!

This company is totally legit and really does offer a useful service. How else are they supposed to offer help without reaching out by phone? Some folks just jump to the worst ideas, thinking if it sounds too good it must be fake or a scam! If people took a minute to look into it, they wouldn’t just blindly believe rumours like everyone else. 1) Government grants? Nope - the funding and stuff are supported by the government. 2) Funding - just google energy-company-obligation-eco and you’ll see. Honestly, would you rather get a phone call or have someone unexpectedly knocking on your door?

Got a call from this number about a free energy efficiency assessment. Talked to a friendly woman who made everything clear. I decided to go ahead with the offer. After the check, they gave me a price for new doors and windows. Considering the funding, it seemed fair. I accepted since my windows really needed replacing. They installed the new windows a few months after. They were done nicely and haven’t caused any issues. Plus, I’m noticing a drop in my heating costs thanks to the better insulation.

Got a call from Approved Energy Solutions, they claimed they were operating in our area and wanted to pop round to inspect the house. However, when I went to fetch my husband, the caller just ended the call. The number shown was 01484482216. When I rang back, a lady picked up and said it was probably one of their staff but didn’t give any more info or follow up.

This phone number belongs to four guys - Mark, Michael, Barrie, and Alex G#####s - who were part of Swift Green Energy Solutions Limited based in Halifax. They’re now operating under the name Approved Green Energy Solution over in Brighouse. Both companies have loads of CCJs against them, and they basically rip off vulnerable folks with overpriced products that are poorly installed. If you ever come across these lot, seriously, keep well clear. Just Google their names and you’ll see what I mean.

He seemed to know quite a bit, but a lot of it was off, so I didn’t bother engaging. Legit energy testing firms only deal with professionals, offering training, software, and accreditation - they don’t bother private people. This was definitely a dodgy call, probably trying to get your details or even gain entry to your house. Watch out for this sort of scam.

This person rings all the time. I’ve started ignoring my phone, then checking who’s called with 1471 after. It’s really annoying. My 95-year-old Uncle has his number blocked on his phone, so I’m worried I might be missing important calls from him. Honestly, these calls are just pure rubbish. I assumed WHICH had fixed this, but the annoying calls just keep coming through.

02038616380 called me at my mums place, claiming to be conducting an energy survey. They asked for me by name and mentioned an address I lived at over a decade ago. I explained I don't live there anymore, and the bloke just said “that’s ages ago” and then cut the call. Looking back, it felt really odd. I'd be wary of who these people are representing. Definitely don’t trust them.

The individual had knowledge of both my name and address but claimed to be conducting an "efficiency survey" for all the residences in our village. I intervened and inquired about the organization they represented, only to be provided with a name that was unfamiliar to me. Pointing out that this was an unsolicited call and that I was registered on the telephone preference scheme, I informed them of their obligation to remove my number from their calling list.

I've gotten loads of these calls recently. Got one just yesterday but they hung up straight away. Today I answered but didn't say anything. I could hear a call centre in the background and lots of giggling. The lady who finally spoke was swearing. She mentioned a name that only uses my phone for texts. When I asked who was calling and started swearing, she just hung up. It’s clear they aren’t using the electoral register or matching numbers properly to accounts. The only link between the number and the person they were after was car insurance. I’m also on the TPS.

Got a call from a window firm about some ‘government scheme’ (seemed a bit dodgy) saying they’d be in my STREET and wanted to see if my windows were up to scratch. I mentioned that I’d just had some new ones fitted and the guy was polite before ending the call. I’m quite annoyed with myself though, he used my name and I didn’t think to remind him that I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list and he shouldn’t be calling me! Seriously, can’t these people find proper jobs instead of pestering folks?

When I attempted to return the call, all I heard was a brief "Goodbye" before it disconnected.
