i got a ring from some call centre saying they’re from wateraid, and it sounded like they were mostly phoning folks who already donate. it’s a bit annoying, but i doubt it’s anything dangerous. like usual, you can just hang up whenever you want, and if they keep at it, just block or ignore the number. on the other hand, it feels like what they’re doing could break new rules supposed to clamp down on pushy charity calls. might be a good idea to throw that in when they start pitching their “fantastic chance” to you.

Got a call from this number about 7.38pm and when I picked up, there was complete silence. After that, I looked up the number online and loads of people mentioned they thought it was Wateraid calling. I had actually donated to Wateraid on my phone just the night before, but I also texted another number from their TV advert telling them not to bother calling me again. Maybe this call came through before they saw my “no more calls” message? Fingers crossed I don’t get any more calls from them!

I always google a phone number first to see if its spammy before I answer. Got myself a CPR Callblocker recently and it’s brilliant - just hit one button when someone dodgy rings and they’re blocked for good. It also gets rid of all those silent or unavailable calls, which is a lifesaver. Definitely the best thing I’ve bought for my phone in ages. Just a heads up, you’ll need a caller ID phone or something similar for it to work. And if they hang up too quick, you can add the number later no worries.

Whenever I answered, either they’d just ended the call or I could hear the line click off. It’s been four calls up to now, and it’s really getting on my nerves.
