i got a ring from some call centre saying they’re from wateraid, and it sounded like they were mostly phoning folks who already donate. it’s a bit annoying, but i doubt it’s anything dangerous. like usual, you can just hang up whenever you want, and if they keep at it, just block or ignore the number. on the other hand, it feels like what they’re doing could break new rules supposed to clamp down on pushy charity calls. might be a good idea to throw that in when they start pitching their “fantastic chance” to you.

I got a ring from this number around 19:38, and when I picked up, it was dead air on the other end. Curious, I did a quick search online and found quite a few folks mentioning they’ve had similar experiences with this number, suggesting it’s linked to Wateraid. Interestingly, I made a donation to them via my mobile the previous evening, but I also texted another number from their TV advert, requesting no further communications from Wateraid. What an absolute pain! They call you up, only to cut the line before you can even say a word. If they're truly a charitable organisation as some folks claim, they’re certainly doing a splendid job of driving away any chances of receiving donations by being such a bother. Perhaps they’re nothing more than impostors masquerading as a charity, pulling the wool over our eyes?

It's a good idea to search for any unknown number on Google. If it turns out to be nuisance calls, just add it to your block list. I recently got myself a CPR Callblocker, and I simply hit a button while the call is ringing. That number gets blocked for good! Plus, it also helps with those pesky silent or unknown calls. Truly the best purchase I've made! Just remember, you’ll need to have a telephone or device that can show caller ID. Oh, and if they hang up before you can block them, it’s no hassle to add more numbers later on.
