Clear as day, this was a call centre, you could tell by that weird silent gap right at the start of the call. This is the third time the so-called "telephone refund department" has rung me. When I finally picked up, I started telling them to stop calling me and take my number off their list, but before I could even finish, they cut me off! Definitely NOT trustworthy!

It’s from Action Aid - if folks actually took a moment to read the ad carefully, they’d notice you can choose not to get any more calls about donations. However, they do ring to sort out delivery of the free tote bag they send as a thank you for giving.

Same here, I gave money after a call for donations in a public restroom. So I followed what someone else said - saved the number as Action Aid in my phone and then blocked it. Sorted now.

From what others have said, it looks like it's probably Action Aid. My mum gave some money through her phone after spotting their advert in a public toilet and then ended up getting cold called a couple of times, which was a pain. Honestly, I’d never trust an appeal in a public loo to donate, you can't really be sure it's a legit charity!

I picked up the phone when this caller claimed to represent a charity (they mentioned the name) and insisted they required my address to send out some booklet I supposedly requested.
