Got one of those "Microsoft" calls. I asked if he was ringing from Reading since that's where Microsoft UK is and their codes start with 0118. He said yes. Then I asked why he was calling from a London number instead. That was that, call ended.

I think it started after I demanded their contact number and told them I’d report them. I played along with their nonsense but when I said pressing Windows key and B didn’t do anything, they got proper angry.

Got a call from 02038077112. A lady with an Asian accent claimed she was from Microsoft and asked if I was the main user of my computer. She said there had been suspicious activity detected on my device over the last few days. I told her I’d have my son take a look. She quickly said he wouldn’t be able to help. I called it out as a scam and hung up. She rang straight back, quite rude and demanding to know why I'd ended the call. I repeated it was a scam and hung up once more.

A woman said she was Jennifer from Microsoft, ringing about my computer. I told her my Apple Mac isn't connected to Microsoft in any way and she should try her tricks on someone else. Unsurprisingly, she just ended the call. Why do these scammers keep doing these obvious scams that everyone has heard about? Surely there's no one left who falls for this kind of thing.

A woman with an Indian accent rang me, speaking really fast. She claimed she was from BT tech support. I could hear loads of people shouting in the background, like a busy call centre. Some bloke with a strange accent rang up sayin' there was a problem with me computer. I told him I didn't have a clue what he was on about. He kept saying me computer info was bein' used for online bets, even abroad, and that he'd help sort it out, otherwise I'd get into trouble coz my computer was bein' used. I told him to stop talking nonsense and if I wanted to gamble online at home or over seas, that was my own business. No way there's any proof I'll be caught so I’m not responsible. In the end, I just hung up on him.
