Absolutely a con. Got a phone call claiming I’d got Sky Insurance and it was paid through my monthly bill. I told them “I don’t have that, and if I did, Sky would be sorting a refund.” They then tried to push me to buy a policy on my credit card. Since I found this site straight away, I kinda knew their game and pretended to go with it for a bit. They soon caught on, shouted some abuse, and hung up. Without a doubt, it’s a scam!

I got a call from scammers on 25/11/19. Weird thing was, my internet had been cutting out before they rang, so it looked like they knew about it. I don’t get how they found my Sky landline number though, I’ve never used it or shared it with anyone. I usually just stick to my mobile. I understand not everyone has the means to buy a phone with a built-in spam blocker, but they really do help. We've had ours for a while now, even though it's a bit old compared to newer models. Got a call from an Indian call centre claiming to be Sky. When I asked what for, the person said "You’ve got Sky TV." I said no, and they just said sorry and hung up. Received a call today, 20th November 2019, at precisely 17:48 from a chap with an unmistakably American accent. It was quite peculiar as he didn't have the faintest idea what my name was and referred to me as "Madam". He claimed that our insurance for Sky equipment had expired. When I inquired whether he wished me to renew it right there on the phone, he enthusiastically said "yes, Madam". I informed him he was barking up the wrong tree, as we don't even possess any Sky gear! To my astonishment, his response was rather rude-something along the lines of "you ought to get a life...get a life!" before he abruptly hung up. I've gone ahead and lodged a complaint with Domestic & General, a legitimate outfit that provides coverage under Sky Protect. Fingers crossed they gather enough complaints to take appropriate action against these scammers.

I received a call from a chap with a strong Indian accent purporting to be from Sky. The thing is, we sorted our Sky subscription yonks ago. It stinks of a scam, I tell you. Best to steer clear and refrain from sharing any of your personal details... just cut the call. - Caller: Clearly a scam artist pretending to represent Sky.

A bloke with an Indian accent called me saying my insurance on my Sky gear had run out and I needed to pay £75 to keep it going, otherwise they’d switch off my Sky. I just told him to do it then. Felt like a scam to grab my account info.

Some lady claimed she was with Sky and said my TV gear maintenance was due for renewal. I asked why she was ringing me then and told her to just send a letter. When she insisted it had to be paid immediately, I told her to get lost and called her a deceitful scammer. She hung up. Then she phoned back saying she'd report me to the police for swearing. I told her to do what she wants. She hung up once more, lol.

Got hit with another scam call. This makes 13 in just two days, all from different numbers. I block them whenever I can, and that's exactly what I did with this latest one. Honestly, I'm so fed up with it all.

So, I picked up the phone and said hi, but there was nothing on the other end, no reply at all. Figured I might have been wrong, so I ended the call. I actually thought it was my work calling me at first, but after I ended it, I looked up the number here and found out it was a scammer trying to get through.

Got a call from someone claiming to be John from Sky, told them to stop ringing me. They kept phoning back about 8 times, so I just kept hanging up and eventually blocked the number.

Some bloke was telling me I had insurance with Sky and they were gonna give me a refund. We’ve never had anything like that, so I knew it was dodgy. Ended the call straight away.

Got a call from Dexter at Sky again trying to sell me insurance. He rang yesterday too, and I let him hang about on the phone for 10 minutes doing nothing. Asked if he was the same Dexter from before and if he fancied wasting another 10 mins chatting with no result. Ended up he just hung up. No patience for these scammers.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent saying they were from Sky, asking me to update my card info. I told them I’m not even with Sky now, then they started going on about some equipment cover I supposedly hadn't paid for. They just wouldn’t stop, so I ended up telling them to sod off and find something better to do with their time.

Got a call from someone named Dexter saying my Sky insurance needed renewing today. Thing is, I've never had any Sky services, and we only just moved into this new place a few months back, so it’s not like previous owners had anything like that either. Feels like a proper scam to me, they should really be shut down and slapped with a big fine for messing about like this.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent about some Sky equipment issue. I straight up said I’m not a Sky customer, and I reckoned he was trying to scam me. He just hung up after that.

Some bloke rang claiming to be from Sky, said he could stop my £12 direct debit if I paid £50 to cover two years in installments. Thing is, I don’t even have a DD set up with them! So I told him he’d be better off fixing potholes than trying to scam people. Then he asked for my card details. As if I’d give them to him! Think I’m daft? No way!
