I’m situated in Manchester. The phone went off, ringing thrice, but I chose not to pick up. They then disconnected the call. This happened at 11:53 am on Thursday, 1st December 2022.

They had an accent and said they were calling from O2. I told them I’m not an O2 customer and they ended the call quickly. Pretty obvious it was a scam from the start.

Got a call around 3:16 pm from a bloke saying he was part of some government program to cut down my living costs and clear any debts I’ve got. He went on about needing to meet certain requirements and asked me straight up “How much debt have you got?” I told him “About 3 million pounds.” Then he said, “You gotta owe at least 4 million to qualify.” Couldn’t help but laugh, and then he just hung up on me. Looks like we both had a good laugh but he definitely got the last word!
