Answered my phone but no one spoke. Hung up and looked up the number. Just like I thought, it was some weirdo aiming to scam me. I don’t call back, don’t share my information, and never buy stuff over the phone, so honestly, what’s the point for them? Total waste of time.

Recently, I've had several calls where I just left it go to my voicemail and, weirdly, no messages were left. Oddly enough, it's often the same number but the last three digits keep changing. Sometimes it's 289, other times I spot 298. Quite strange!

Seriously, when will someone put a stop to this absolute muppet who keeps ringing people nonstop all over the UK? What’s the point of the TPS when it clearly doesn’t help at all? These daft people keep harassing everyone with pointless calls. Just a heads up - IF YOU’RE NOT SURE WHO’S CALLING, DON’T PICK UP. Anyone who really needs to get in touch will ring your mobile instead.

Got a ring from this number a bit ago. There was this bloke with a posh, robotic voice saying he was from HMRC and that I was on the hook for tax fraud. He went on about me getting nicked unless I hit 1 right away. Seemed proper dodgy to me.

Got a call from this number three times just this morning. Each time I picked up, I said "hello tax office" and they just ended the call straight away.

They never told me the company name. The person said my kitchen appliance warranty was up and asked if I wanted to renew or add extras. When I asked how they take payment, they said direct debit. I told them I don’t have any cover with them and wondered if it was some sort of scam or they'd got the wrong number, then they just cut me off - really cheeky! Could be a phishing call?

29th May 2020, got a call from 0203 6775298, some annoying American lady with that slow, annoying drawl asking “How am I today?” I was like yeah yeah and then she just got cut off. Been quiet since then but now with covid, they’re back at it! Cheers for the heads up on the forum.

My phone buzzed but I didn’t pick up, let it go straight to voicemail while I was watching “Taggart.” Left a message, but seemed like a typical scam call. They never actually said anything.

they tried calling again but hung up as soon as my answer machine picked up. blocked that one fast. then they switched to another number that was just like the first but the last two digits swapped, ended in 98 instead of 89. blocked that too. such a pain, but i’m not letting them get the better of me!

Some bloke from a call centre kept going on about my appliances’ “cover” running out. Problem is, I don’t have any cover on them at all. Just ended up hanging up on him.
