Got a call from a lady speaking with a US accent, pitching some kind of insurance for three of my kitchen gadgets. At first, I assumed it was connected to the company we already use, but I soon figured out it wasn’t. She claimed to be from Appliance Protect, but I told her I wasn’t keen and ended the call. Later on, I tried to look up their site, but it seems to have vanished, and a quick look on Companies House showed Appliance Direct was wound up in January 2020.

I got a message on my answering machine from a woman who said my name right, but then the call just ended abruptly.

A woman called me saying she was from some insurance firm and could lower the price of my appliance cover. But right away she messed up and named appliances I don't even have insured with any company. It struck me as fishy. She had a thick American accent and mentioned sending me info, with a payment due on 15th May. When she asked to confirm my details (which you'd think they’d already have if it was legit), I just found a reason to cut the call and ended the chat there.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an American accent, trying to sell some dodgy insurance deal. Told me it was some kind of scam right away. Definitely didn’t trust it.
