Same as everyone else here, some firm rang me about appliance insurance. I told the bloke I'm on the TPS list but he just ignored it and kept cutting me off. When I asked if he knew how old my appliances were, he reckoned about 10 years. Told him he got it wrong and then he just hung up on me. Proper frustrating.

When I mentioned it was more than 20 years old, he insisted they offer coverage up to 20 years! I asked him politely to stop bothering me, but he got rather rude and warned he'd keep calling. Someone rang me claiming to be from Domestic Appliances, saying my white goods needed renewing. I already sorted my insurance and have the new paperwork, so I told them that. Despite this, the caller kept pushing, asking when I renewed, how much I paid, and other info. I told them they already had all my details and told them off a bit before just hanging up. I reported it to Domestic & General, who said they know about this scam and are working with the police to deal with it. Honestly, it worries me how these scammers got hold of my info and knew my appliances were due for renewal.

Got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent but using a very English name. They said they were from Domestic and General, trying to get me to renew insurance on my fridge, cooker, and freezer for about £400 for another three years.
