02032899604 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02032899604 👆 is reported as a persistent and widespread scam involving callers impersonating major UK internet providers like BT, Sky, Orange, and TalkTalk. Scammers often claim the victim’s broadband or internet connection has been hacked or compromised and use pressure tactics to gain remote access to computers, typically via software like TeamViewer. Many callers use Indian or non-British accents, provide false callback numbers, and employ scripted dialogue. They attempt to extract money, request gift card payments, or install malicious software. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly or recently bereaved are frequently targeted. Genuine providers do not ask for remote access or payment via gift cards. Users are strongly advised not to engage, never to install software from unsolicited calls, verify independently with official provider contacts, and report such activity to prevent harm.

I got a call from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent. He claimed my internet wasn’t safe and had some kind of problem. When I asked which company he was from, he told me BT. I asked for his phone number so I could ring him later. He gave me 02032899604. However, when I checked by dialling 1471, the number came up as 01484968128 instead. Definitely sounds dodgy to me. I wouldn’t bother calling back!

My mate got about 15 calls from this number, claiming to be from TalkTalk. It was a tough situation because it was an older lady who’d just lost someone close. Turns out, she was tricked into installing some app on her Android tablet. Seriously, don’t ever download stuff from someone who rings you out of the blue!

I got a phone call from a bloke named David Miller claiming he was from BT. He told me my tablet had been hacked and that I needed to pop down to Tesco and buy three gift cards worth £100 each. He said I’d get my money back once I’d bought them. I was really anxious because he also said my internet would be cut off and I'd end up blacklisted. Luckily, my wife stepped in before I got scammed. Watch out for this one!

I got a call from a bloke with an accent I couldn’t place, he called himself Alan Wendel and claimed to be from Sky’s Tech Support. He said there was some fault with my broadband and if it wasn’t sorted, my internet would cut out. He asked me to get on my PC to sort it for him. I’m no expert with computers, so I requested his name and a contact number to call him back later. He gave me this number he said to ring. It all sounded pretty convincing, but after reading these comments, I’m thinking it was a scam.

I just had pretty much the same thing happen with someone named Jennifer. She said there was an issue with my internet and it might get cut off. After she thanked me and ended the call, I looked up the number and found loads of posts saying it’s a BT scam. Glad to see I wasn’t the only one getting this!

Alex rang me up saying my internet would get cut off in 30 mins if I didn’t call back. She asked me to ring 02032899604. I’ve contacted BT to let them know it was a scam. Definitely not trusting any Alex calls now. Appreciate the heads up!

It’s definitely a con. I got a call from the number 01567756985, where the person claimed to be from BT. The caller had a strong Indian accent and sounded like they were in a noisy, busy call centre, and the line quality was awful. They stumbled over a script and I could barely make out what they were saying. Then they said they’d ring me back from their London office on 02032899604 to prove it wasn’t dodgy. Sure enough, they phoned again from that number, insisting there was an issue with my broadband and wanted me to check my computer so they could inspect the line! That’s when I told them I was sure they’d want me to visit a certain website so they could take control of my PC - no chance. I asked them to delete my details from their records (though I doubt they will) and hung up. Even though we’ve been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for years, these calls still happen.

Got a call from this number earlier, some woman called Kristina claiming my internet service was about to be cut off or something. She said she was with BT but I told her flat out it’s a scam and asked her not to ring back since this is a home for older people and the family handles all BT stuff. When I asked for her full name, address and phone number, my phone showed the call was coming from Glasgow which seemed odd because I thought 020 numbers were supposed to be London-based? Bit fishy if you ask me.

Got a call today from this number, some woman called Kristina claiming she was from BT and threatening to cut off my internet. I told her right away it was a scam and asked her to stop calling because this number belongs to an elderly person, and we handle all BT stuff ourselves. I tried getting her details, name, address, phone number, but all I got was 01478936475. How many older folks out there are falling for this rubbish?

I’ve had this happening twice already. The second time I played along just to see where they’d take it. They try to get you onto BT’s website and then ask you to enter teamviewer, so they can get control of your computer. It’s tricky ’cos it really looks like you’re on the official BT page. No doubt, some poor soul will get caught out by it. I asked the caller’s number and he kept insisting he was from BT - obviously not! Honestly, I’m hoping they ring back, so I can just keep them on the line wasting their time!

Someone called me claiming to be Christina Williams. Seemed a bit more believable than the typical scams, but it was still dodgy. If you’re ever unsure, best thing is to ring an official BT number yourself. Just don’t let these lot get into your computer or mess with your router.

Got a call from a bloke saying he was with BT, talking about some dodgy activity on our internet and that I needed to update the router settings. I asked for a contact number to ring back, but he phoned me back straight away, pushing for me to pick a time to call. After looking it up, I realised it’s a scam because it felt fishy. I kept asking if he was really from BT and he kept insisting he was, even gave me some supposed reference number, but I didn’t have it to verify.

Got a call from this number the other day, with some bloke called Jason saying he was from BT. He claimed someone was hooking up to my internet without permission. He wanted me to log into my computer so he could supposedly block the intruders “in real time,” threatening to cut off my broadband for a month if I didn’t comply. I was suspicious straight away, even tho he knew my address (which, honestly, you can find on the electoral register). I told him to ring me back in 10 mins. Then I phoned BT myself and they said loads of people had reported similar calls today. That cheeky Indian guy did ring back, and I told him I knew he was ripping me off. Even then, he acted clueless like I had no idea.

Got a call from someone claiming my internet was being used by others and said I needed help sorting it out. Funny right? This lady with an Indian accent asked me to fire up my computer, saying she’d then transfer me to her supervisor Mark. Once I said it was on, a bloke called Mark Edwards, supposedly a BT technician, came on the line. He sounded really inexperienced though, constantly needing to check things before answering me. When I asked for a number to call back, he gave me 0203 2899604, but had to get permission first. I hung up after that. When I dialled 1471 to check, the real number was 01895527846. I never actually switched my laptop on, just kept them hanging with silly questions which threw them off their script. It's awful thinking someone might actually fall for this nonsense.

Got a dodgy call pretending to be BT saying my internet was going to be cut off in two hours. The weird part is, Openreach were here just yesterday fixing a fault on my line, so it almost sounded legit. I asked them for my BT account number and they rattled off some random nonsense digits. Then I wanted proof they were really from BT, and they told me to ring 01032899604 and prove my identity. That was the last straw, so I hung up and called BT myself. Turns out they hadn’t tried to get in touch at all. The original number was 01398524762, which I've heard is linked to scams too.

I just got a call from someone called Robin Watson - sounded quite Indian - using the number 01398524762. He said he was a BT tech support guy and offered to help me install some software from www.teamviewer.com to remove spyware from my PC. Basically, he was trying to hijack my computer and steal my data. The call came through on my home phone, and BT mentioned they’re focusing on the 01235 area code lately, so watch out. He told me to ring that same number back to verify he was a genuine BT engineer, but instead I googled the number while he was still on the line. Found this site with similar reports and hung up immediately!

I just got a phone call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming his name was Alex Smith. He said he was ringing from BT and warned me my internet would stop working in a week because of some problems with their servers. I told him I’m not even a BT customer and suspected it was a scam. He tried to connect me to his supervisor but I refused. At one point he mentioned a licence ID or something, it was 888DCA60. Seemed dodgy to me.

I tried to buy some time by asking for our IP address and then asked him to give me a number so I could call him later. This weird guy called me saying his name was Alvin Gabriell and that viruses had been found on my internet, and that it would be turned off for a couple of days. I wasn’t convinced at all and asked for proof, he gave me a number to ring back on along with some kind of employee ID. When I googled that number, I found loads of people saying they’d had the same call from someone with that name. The number shown on my phone when he called was totally different though (01398 724762). No way am I calling that back - totally sounded like a scam to me.

These clowns ring you up pretending there's some urgent problem with your internet that only they can fix, just to sneak into your PC. I told the bloke to put the phone down and maybe listen to something smarter than the rubbish he was spouting. He immaturely accused me of calling him a liar before abruptly ending the call. Bit of a laugh, really. Just ignore them, mate.

Just like others have said, there was an insane amount of noise from other people in the background. I asked for his number and was pretty shocked when he actually told me one. So, I rang 1471 to see who it was but got a "no number left" message. That’s why I ended up coming here to double-check and make sure something wasn’t off.

I got a call this afternoon from someone saying they were with BT's service team. They told me my internet was supposedly going to be out of action for a fortnight due to some maintenance work. Today I got a call from someone claiming to be a BT advisor, a woman named Christa William who had an Indian accent. She said they needed to install some software to fix internet issues. Thing is, we hadn’t had any problems at all - I was online just fine earlier. My mum picked up the phone and she’s not really tech-savvy, doesn’t even know how to switch on the computer, but she wrote down the number. That number’s the one I searched for here.
