Got a call from someone saying they were with Virgin Media, saying my SIM needed an update or something. When I asked who they wanted to speak to, they couldn’t even say my name. I just hung up and put them straight on the block list.

Seems like a total scammer to me.

Got a call at 11:11 from someone saying they were from O2. They told me my SIM was outdated and would get blocked soon, but they’d send me a replacement SIM by post. Since O2 usually texts me instead of calling, I hung up straight away. I then rang O2 on 202 to check and spoke to their fraud team who said it was probably a scam. I've blocked that number now.

They called me three times throughout the day, never picked up but kept trying again and again. Total hassle and definitely a scam, nothing legit about it.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Virgin Media, but I’m not even a customer. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be Virgin. They said because of the O2 takeover, I’d be getting a new SIM card sent out. Totally a scam, so watch out!

Got a call saying my SIM card would be blocked in a week. I just said "Cheers, bye" and ended the call, then I blocked the number straight away!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Vodafone, but I handled it carefully and didn’t get fooled.

Caller said if I didn’t pay, my SIM would be cut off within 48 hours. I just told them to buzz off! Total scam.

I got a call around 4.55pm from someone saying they were Virgin Media, telling me my Virgin sim was about to be blocked in a few days. I told them I don’t actually have a Virgin sim, only their broadband. Then the caller tried to say I had an O2 sim instead. When I said no to that, they swore at me and told me to go to hell. Funny thing is, this number is on the TPS list and has been for more than ten years, so clearly they weren’t following the rules. The person sounded South Asian, so I reckon it was an overseas VOIP scammer.

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2/Virgin Media about a new SIM. I phoned O2 myself to check and they told me they don’t do cold calls like that. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Some bloke rang me saying he was with First Direct, saying there’d been dodgy transactions on my card. When I told him I’d ring up First Direct myself to check, he just cut the call.

Had a call from someone saying they were from O2/Virgin Media claiming my SIM card was expired and about to be blocked. They asked for my email and other details, which I didn’t give them and just ended the call. To be safe, I rang O2 later to confirm if it was legit, but they said they hadn’t contacted me and there was nothing wrong with my account. Sounds like a typical scam to me.

I got a call claiming to be from O2, which is weird cuz I don’t even use their service. They had both my phone number and email, which I found really strange. This all kicked off when I got a message about resetting my Microsoft account. They asked me to give them the number from the text but I wasn’t having any of it and told them to sod off. Still, I have no clue how they managed to get my details in the first place.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with O2 or Virgin Media about my SIM. Rang me up twice and was pretty pushy. The accent was definitely foreign, and their way of talking was a bit strange, so I reckon they were overseas. Plus, I don’t even have a SIM with Virgin or O2! Told the bloke where to go... or something along those lines, anyway.
