I received a message that claimed to be from the Royal Mail, requesting £2.99 via a link. I decided to check on this site to confirm it was a scam.

Got a call but didn't pick up.

Got a call from an unknown number and just let the answerphone pick it up. As expected, the person just hung up straight away. I checked "who phoned me" and realised I almost got caught in a scam. I've now blocked that number on my home phone.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Royal Mail asking for my email address, seemed a bit dodgy. A while back my phone was nicked, and since then I keep getting messages ‘from Apple’ saying they’ve found my phone. The links they send just lead to dodgy phishing sites trying to grab your Apple ID so they can get into your phone. Not sure if this latest call is connected to them trying to get my email to hack my stolen phone or just a different scam aimed at bank info. Told ‘em where to shove it.

I hung up before they could even say a word. Blocked the number because I’ve seen bad reports about it before.

Got a call from someone claiming they were Royal Mail, said there was a problem with a delivery. Seemed fishy, so I looked up the number and turns out it wasn’t them at all. Proper scam attempt if you ask me. Watch out for these fake ones!

Got a call from someone with an Eastern European accent claiming to be from Royal Mail about a delivery. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

When I hinted that he might be running a scam, he snapped at me and threw the c-word my way.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Royal Mail. She told me I owed £1.55 for a parcel and wanted me to pay by card. Oddly, she knew a surname of mine from Facebook, but it wasn’t my actual last name, so maybe that’s how they found me? Also, I could hear someone shouting in a different language in the background... felt a bit dodgy.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Royal Mail, saying I owed £1.55 for a parcel because apparently the sender hadn’t paid the postage. When I asked how they got my number, she said the sender passed on some of my details so they could ring instead of the usual delivery card through the door. I told her it didn’t make much sense - if they wanted to send me something, surely the sender should have just paid the postage? She kept pushing that it was only £1.55 to retrieve the parcel and asked if she could have my email to send me a payment link. She also said I could pick it up in person at some address in London (spoke super fast, barely caught it). I paused and asked why not just send it back to the sender, since I had no idea what the parcel even was. She said firmly it was my responsibility to pay, repeating the request for my email or to collect it with ID. I told her I wasn’t paying and that the sender should sort the postage - so returning it to them would be fine. Surprisingly, she backed off and agreed to return it, even said goodbye politely - which was really odd for a scam call. I’ve reported it to Action Fraud just in case, but honestly they had a pretty convincing spiel so I worry how many people might get tricked by it.

I had something similar happen. They said my parcel was waiting somewhere way across London from where I live. They offered to redirect it if I paid a little charge. At first it sounded legit, but the more I thought about it, stuff didn’t add up. I just told them thanks, I’ll swing by and pick it up myself, and the call ended pretty friendly! Since we’re all posting here, I’m glad we were wary enough not to fall for it. Still, I do feel bad for anyone who might be more trusting or actually expecting a delivery.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Royal Mail, saying there was a parcel waiting for me in London and I had to pay £1.55. I told the person, if they had my address, surely Royal Mail would have sent a letter or something. I asked them to tell me my address to prove they were legit, but they couldn't and just ended the call. Didn’t really catch me off guard!

Got a call on my phone but before I could pick up, they had already hung up. My phone showed it as maybe spam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the Royal Mail delivery centre saying they had a package for me and needed £1.55 for shipping. They asked for my email so they could send over the invoice, which I gave, though I should’ve been more careful. Then they insisted I stay on the phone to confirm the email arrived and wanted me to stay on while I paid. I refused that part. Hopefully, all they managed to get was my email address. Felt daft for falling for it even briefly. I mean, if they actually had my address, why ring me? Just send the invoice through the post!

Every review I’ve read so far points to this being a scam call. Did anyone actually get in touch with the police about it?

Someone just called me saying their name was Eva Patterson from Royal Mail, though she had a pretty thick accent, not really what you'd expect. She said I owed some payment, about a pound something, but I wasn’t convinced at all. I just told her I didn’t buy it and ended the call.

This number rang me earlier, and wouldn't you know it, they even followed up with an email asking me to settle a £1.55 payment!

Just like others have said, got a missed call and called back. The person said I’ve got a tiny parcel, just one item, weighing 0.7kg, and because it’s missing a stamp, I supposedly need to pay £1.55. They asked if I wanted an email to sort it out. I told them I’d just sort it through my Royal Mail account. Proper rubbish, these calls should be banned, it’s awful how they try tricking people with lies.

Got a ring from this number earlier, some bloke saying he was from royal mail and I've got a package coming from London but no postcode on it. I cut him off halfway and told him to just return it to whoever sent it.

Totally a scam, no doubt. Some woman called claiming to be from Royal Mail in London. When I asked where she got my number from, she said it was on the parcel. Sure, but she had no clue where I actually lived! I told her she was trying to scam me, and she just said I was nuts before hanging up. What a joke!

Looks like this number belongs to a Stuart Wright at 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF. At least now we can pinpoint where this fraudster 'Stuart' is based! No surprise he’s got a big house, with all the people he’s been ripping off!
