Reports on phone number 02032864429
3 yearsI’ve come across this number linked to a Visa scammer who pretended to be from the anti-fraud team of whatever bank I claimed to be with. I fabricated a story, saying I was with HSBC, a bank I’ve actually never had any dealings with. I even provided a fictitious name and date of birth, boasting about a supposed balance of £42,000 in my account. He then handed me a Case ID and this number to call for supposed fraud inquiries. During the first call, they mentioned that my Visa card had been compromised but conveniently omitted the name of the bank. Whenever I pressed for details, they seemed to cut the line abruptly. This time, I played along, asserting I was with HSBC, and when I was instructed to hang up and contact the number he’d provided, he casually thanked me for calling HSBC. I never called that number, but since then, my phone has rung three times, clearly from the same scammer following up on whether I made the call.HSBC3 yearsI just got a call from someone claiming to be from my bank, saying there was a payment made from CHINA that I need to sort out. I really think more older folks should watch out for this kind of thing.Submit Your Own Report (020 3286 4429)
