The caller rushed through the name of their company so quickly that it was all just a blur to me. They repeated that they were reaching out on behalf of my housing association, insisting I participate in a survey related to it. I told them I wasn't interested, and before I could catch my breath, they probed whether that meant I was declining all their surveys. I can’t quite recall how I responded, but I ended up hanging up on them. What really struck me was that they addressed me by my full name! I promptly blocked their number afterwards.

There’s no way a legit survey company would be phoning an elderly person out of the blue asking about some housing association. Whether they’re legit or not, nobody should be cold-calling vulnerable or elderly people for any reason. At best, they’re an annoying nuisance, but at worst they could be dangerous. It’s a shame scammers give a bad name to proper companies like IFF.
